Your duties will include:

• Reading production schedules, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed
• Knowing how to operate and troubleshoot the various types of equipment used in the shipyard
• Identifying hazards, safe out equipment, and writing safe work permits
• Working aloft (on scaffold or on manlifts) and in confined spaces
• Performing daily inspections, maintenance, and re-fueling of all equipment
• Determining what, if any, parts or equipment need service beyond shipyard personnel capabilities

You will also be required to collaborate and communicate with welders, metal fitters, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades as required to complete vessel construction or repair and to maintain efficient work flows.
