The Trade Loan Analyst is responsible for evaluating trade loan activities to deliver business goals, balancing credit risk and reward through good business judgement.
\nThis includes calculating and evaluating Trade Loans, preparing and submitting proposals for authorisation, evaluating trade finance performance, supporting commercial evaluation, legal recovery and business support to the bp Sales teams.
\nThe position holder must ensure adherence to local policies and procedures in driving outstanding customer service, operational excellence and compliance.
\nKey responsibilities include performing regular and event-driven Trade Loan evaluations, conducting Customer Due Diligence to understand the financial and commercial prospects of the customer.
\nThe analyst must prepare Financial Memoranda, validate and submit trade loan proposals for approval, ensuring alignment with BP financial guidelines.
\nThey will also liaise with cash and banking teams to ensure payments are issued to customers as per agreement signed.
\nAdditionally, the analyst will prepare trade investment agreements, purchase orders, invoices, legal letters and other relevant documents.
\nThey will monitor Trade Loan fulfilment, identify key, strategic or high risks related to trade investments and take actions together with relevant partners.
\nThe analyst will evaluate and articulate the underlying delivery of actuals vs. the target (Volume and Gross Margin) on a monthly basis and take necessary actions as per the Contract.
\nThey will also perform reconciliation between sub-accounts and main GL accounts to ensure account balances are valid and accurate.
\nIn-depth knowledge of accounting entries related to end-to-end Trade loan activities is required.
\nExperience and Requirements:
\nBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
\nMinimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Loan Application, Credit Assessments, Collections or Financial performance in an international environment.
\nShared service centre experience; preferably in oil and gas industry, lubricants industry.
\nWritten and spoken proficiency in English language.
\nProficiency in MS Office / JDE/SAP & Power BI.
