<p>The People Systems team builds and maintains secure, scalable HR technology that supports employees across the company.</p>
<p>The team partners closely with People Operations, Compensation, Payroll, Finance and Corporate Engineering to deliver reliable systems and improve how employees experience internal tools.</p>
<p>The focus is on improving system performance, enabling new capabilities, and supporting company growth through thoughtful system design.</p>

<p>As a Staff Workday Engineer, you will design, configure, and improve Workday solutions across HCM, Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll.</p>
<p>You will partner directly with People and business teams to translate requirements into system configurations, reports, and integrations.</p>
<p>This role contributes to both ongoing system improvements and major initiatives such as acquisitions and new feature development.</p>
<p>You will also support the evaluation and implementation of AI-based capabilities within HR systems to improve efficiency and decision-making.</p>
<p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Drive the design, configuration, and continuous improvement of Workday modules including HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and act as the subject matter expert</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Architect, build, and optimize scalable Workday integrations, custom reports, and advanced security models with a constant focus on reliability, resilience and scalability</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Partner with People Operations, Compensation, Payroll, and Engineering teams to deliver system enhancements, process automations and resolve issues</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Support mergers and acquisitions and Internationalization efforts by driving onboarding workflows, data migration activities and aligning systems with company standards</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Contribute to the development of AI-enabled solutions within HR systems to improve workflows and reporting</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What you bring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You have 6+ years of experience working with Workday, including configuration across HCM, Compensation, Payroll and Benefits, with a proven track record of architectural and design leadership</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>You have experience building and maintaining Workday reports, integrations, and security models</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>You are familiar with Payroll and Finance processes and how they connect to HR systems</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>You have hands-on experience using Workday Studio, custom integration patterns using APIs (SOAP/REST/WQL); experience with Workday Extend, Orchestrations and Prism is a plus</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, ChatGPT, enterprise AI assistants) to accelerate your own engineering workflows, coupled with a track record of building AI-enabled automations is a massive plus</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>You can translate business requirements into system solutions and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners</li>
</ul>

<p>Base Pay Range: Toronto, ON $144,500-$170,000 CAD</p>
