Whether standing up new capabilities, improving governance practices, or scaling operational processes, you will be the connective tissue that keeps programmes moving, risks surfaced, and stakeholders informed.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Own end-to-end program management for large-scale or high-complexity Enterprise Technology &amp; AI initiatives, including scope definition, roadmap development, resource planning, and delivery tracking</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Define and communicate clear success metrics for each program, reporting status and risk to Enterprise Technology &amp; AI leadership on a regular cadence, and escalating issues with recommended paths forward</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Partner with business and technology stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of underlying problems, desired outcomes, and solution trade-offs</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive cross-functional alignment by facilitating decision-making, resolving dependencies, and maintaining momentum across distributed teams</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Recommend and implement improvements to program governance frameworks, intake processes, and ways of working across the CIO org</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Translate complex technical and business requirements into clear, actionable work plans accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Anticipate risks and interdependencies across the portfolio, proactively mitigating blockers before they impact delivery</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Model GitLab values and remote work best practices, contributing to a high-trust, async-first team culture</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>8+ years of program management experience, with a strong track record delivering large, cross-functional Enterprise Technology &amp; AI programmes</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to simplify complex processes and build structured approaches to ambiguous problems</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience influencing without authority, earning trust with senior stakeholders, and driving alignment across functions, including Finance, Legal, Sales, and Product</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Comfortable operating at both a strategic level and in the details, switching between executive communication and hands-on program execution as needed</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting program status, risks, and recommendations to ETA leadership and Executive audiences</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with Enterprise IT domains such as business systems, data, AI, security, infrastructure, or enterprise architecture (depth in one or more areas preferred)</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency with program and project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or similar); PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working in a remote, globally distributed environment with a bias toward async collaboration and clear documentation</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About the Team</strong></p>\n<p>The CIO Enterprise Technology &amp; AI team is GitLab&#39;s central engine for improving the systems, data, and AI capabilities that support how we run the business.
