\nAs a Staff Full Stack Engineer at Okta, you will participate in cross-team initiatives from end to end, including code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness discussions, and release planning.
\nYou will translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, efficient, and reusable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code.
\nYou will optimise front-end performance by considering page load speed, caching strategies, and asset management.
\nYou will contribute to documentation, including front-end component documentation and style guides.
\nYou will maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, front-end frameworks, and emerging web technologies.
\nYou will leverage AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate development, automate testing, and prototype new features.
\nYou will partner closely with the design team, acting as a technical consultant who provides early-stage feedback on feasibility, interaction patterns, and ways to enhance the end-user experience.
\nYou will develop polished CSS animations that elevate the interface, ensuring that motion is both visually engaging and optimised for performance across all devices.
\nAdvanced Full-Stack Technical Breadth: 5+ years of experience with:
\nFront-end: Expert React (Hooks, Context, State management), modern CSS/styling (styled-components, CSS modules), and accessibility best practices.
\nBack-end/Integration: Node.js, API design, and experience bridging frontend components with CMS environments like AEM.
\nInfrastructure: Experience with Vercel, AWS, and Cloudflare.
\nOwnership Mentality: You are comfortable being dropped into an unfamiliar area, exploring the constraints, and proposing a path forward without needing constant guidance.
\nIntellectual Curiosity: You stay ahead of industry trends and evaluate new technologies (including AI tools) based on their ability to solve real-world problems.
\nStrong Communication: You have a user-centric attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. You excel at distilling complex technical data into clear and actionable insights.
\nThe annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington is between $140,000-$192,500 USD.
\nThe annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between $124,000-$170,500 CAD.
