<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>

<li>Automating reliability test initiatives and reporting using proper data visualization techniques and thorough knowledge of the product and its functions</li>
<li>Defining the ongoing reliability testing strategy to monitor the manufacturing process health and screen for long-term reliability defects caused by process and component variability</li>
<li>Root cause systemic production issues or failures found in test and drive design or process changes to meet long-term reliability goals</li>
</ul>
<p>Requirements include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in an engineering discipline</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in test, analysis, manufacturing, or hardware development</li>
<li>Thorough understanding and experience in environmental testing such as HALT/HASS, thermal, vibration, and TVAC</li>
<li>Programming experience in Python, C, and SQL with an emphasis on data analysis and automation</li>
<li>Demonstrated capability to think creatively and solve complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of electronics reliability and failure mechanisms</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role</li>
</ul>
<p>Bonus requirements include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with both electronics and mechanical design and analysis, including knowledge of RF principles</li>
<li>Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment within the consumer electronics, medical devices, aerospace, marine, or automotive industries</li>
<li>Demonstrated application of design or process validation and control methods such as DFMEA, PFMEA, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC)</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of electrical schematics and electronics manufacturing to analyze and improve test coverage</li>
<li>Hands-on experience qualifying and maintaining manufacturing processes for electronics and/or mechanical assemblies</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to produce executive-level reports and presentations to efficiently convey information about large data sets</li>

<p>We have recently expanded our capabilities in mechanical and thermal simulations, and in this role, you will have a direct impact on the design and quality of future Varjo products. This is your chance to shape the next generation of high-end VR/XR hardware.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Define, develop and execute system- and component-level hardware reliability and environmental test strategies for Varjo products.</li>
<li>Plan and execute comprehensive verification and validation activities from the early R&amp;D phase through the entire product lifecycle.</li>
<li>Lead, coordinate and execute reliability and environmental testing using both in-house laboratory and external test partners.</li>
<li>Create and manage test plans, detailed reports, and executive summaries to drive data-driven decision-making.</li>
<li>Proactively support HW design team by providing Design for Reliability guidance during design reviews and support component qualification activities.</li>
<li>Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis to identify potential design or manufacturing issues.</li>
<li>Develop, implement, and improve Varjo internal reliability testing standards and processes.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Our Expectations</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>B.Sc. or M.Sc. on a related technical field.</li>
<li>Proven track record of 7+ years in complex electro-mechanical product reliability testing, preferably within consumer electronics, optoelectronics, wearable products...</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with reliability test and laboratory equipment, including environmental chambers (thermal cycling, humidity, combined), vibration and shock test systems, ingress protection test setups (IP rating).</li>
<li>Willingness and ability to specify, build, and qualify new test equipment and develop of in-house laboratory capabilities.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of environmental testing (e.g., thermal, humidity, vibration, drop, and ingress protection) and relevant standards (IEC, MIL-STD).</li>
<li>Proficiency in reliability methodologies such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), HALT/HASS, and statistical analysis (e.g., Weibull, MTBF).</li>
<li>Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to support cross-functional stakeholders (Design, Project management, Sourcing, Manufacturing).</li>
<li>A strong network of external testing and validation partners</li>
<li>Fluency in English</li>
</ul>
<p>This is a hands-on role in our Helsinki-based team. Because you&#39;ll be working with physical devices and prototypes, the work will be performed mostly on site at our headquarters in Kaisaniemi. Full remote work is not possible in this role.</p>
