As a senior gameplay programmer specialized in artificial intelligence, you'll play a key role in a small, targeted team. You'll be responsible for fundamental AI features and contribute to close collaborative development between programmers, designers, and artists. You'll have the opportunity to work on various initiatives, explore cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with talented internal and external teams, delivering high-impact experiences from design to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with art and design teams to create and evolve AI-based gameplay features
  • Experiment with game design and iterate quickly while making solid technical and algorithmic decisions
  • Lead, develop, and maintain shared fundamental AI systems within the Fortnite AI ecosystem
  • Collaborate with engine AI teams to improve AI systems
  • Ensure high-quality user experience across all supported platforms
  • Optimize and correct bugs in existing AI systems related to gameplay

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in game development, including delivering AAA titles with AI expertise
  • Experience working with AI systems such as behavior trees, finite state machines, pathfinding, and animation
  • Excellent C++ skills and ability to develop AI-based gameplay mechanics and tools
  • Strong knowledge of games and ability to analyze and clearly express the strengths and weaknesses of existing game designs, with a marked interest in online games
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working on a live-service game considered an asset
  • High autonomy, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently
  • Creativity in problem-solving and ability to propose solutions beyond established approaches
