YubHub-native raw fields carry `x-` prefix.","jobs":[{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","identifier":{"@type":"PropertyValue","name":"YubHub","value":"job_35aea4a2-1a8"},"title":"Senior Aerostructures Design Engineer","description":"<p>Shield AI is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to support the development of structural components for our next-generation autonomous aircraft.</p>\n<p>As a key contributor on the Mechanical Engineering team, you will design and develop high-performance structural components from concept through production release.</p>\n<p>You&#39;ll work cross-functionally to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and system integration across one of the most advanced autonomous aircraft platforms being built today.</p>\n<p>This role is ideal for an aerospace mechanical engineer who thrives in hands-on design environments and is eager to take increasing ownership of flight-critical designs.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and develop structural components and assemblies for Shield AI&#39;s next-generation UAV platform, supporting both primary and secondary aircraft structures.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Execute all stages of the design lifecycle including conceptual development, initial CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform hand calculations for stress or strain with limited basic FEA analysis, with guidance from senior engineers as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate closely with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, payload, and manufacturing teams to support system integration across airframe interfaces.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support structural validation efforts including coupon testing, subcomponent testing, and system-level verification.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Generate high-quality design documentation, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports in compliance with aerospace standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Partner with manufacturing and flight test teams to resolve build issues and support hardware through test and deployment.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, presenting work clearly and incorporating feedback effectively.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuously improve personal technical depth in structural layout, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and structural optimization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>4–5+ years of experience in aircraft structural design or closely related aerospace structures.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience designing and releasing structural components in development or production environments.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Working knowledge of composite and metallic structures, including fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar).</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of GD&amp;T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA principles.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferences:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>M.S. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience supporting UAV, DoD, or aerospace vehicle programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with aerospace standards (MIL-STD, ASME Y14.5, FAA).</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience supporting hardware through test, failure analysis, and design iteration.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Exposure to composite design and manufacturing methods.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience using FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or similar) for linear structural analysis</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-top:24px;font-size:13px;color:#666;\">XML job scraping automation by <a href=\"https://yubhub.co\">YubHub</a></p>","url":"https://yubhub.co/jobs/job_35aea4a2-1a8","directApply":true,"hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Shield AI","sameAs":"https://www.shield.ai","logo":"https://logos.yubhub.co/shield.ai.png"},"x-apply-url":"https://jobs.lever.co/shieldai/115aa1cf-8ac5-4002-8b75-5c7e64945883","x-work-arrangement":"onsite","x-experience-level":"senior","x-job-type":"full-time","x-salary-range":"$112,439 -
