The Pharmacy Technician provides technical support and assistance to pharmacists as permitted by state law to ensure all required medications are dispensed accurately and that appropriate documentation of dispensing is maintained.
\nResponsibilities:\nProvide technical support and assistance to pharmacists as permitted by state law.\nCompound and/or prepare medications, including hazardous medications.\nDeliver or exchange medications to the respective patient area and return unused medications to the pharmacy.\nDocument pharmaceutical activities, including filling of medications orders, quality control requirements, etc., using automated and paper systems.\nRespond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy services, such as medication delivery, drug information, etc.\nOperate and support automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients, according to pharmacist and provider orders.\nOrder, receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.\nMay assist with training of new teammates, educating them in job-specific functions.\nContribute to process improvement projects.\nComplete regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP797 and other regulatory documentation as required.\nAdhere to controlled substance policies and all policies and procedures of the department.\nEnsure necessary safety and quality control in the medication use system.\nBe available and flexible to work varied schedules as required to ensure coverage for the area.
