This position requires an innovative, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.</p>\n<p>Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and facilitate exercises to test emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity plans.</li>\n<li>Serve as a subject matter expert in exercise design, crisis management, and business continuity practices.</li>\n<li>Create and deliver training for employees at all levels.</li>\n<li>Support Enterprise Resilience Coordinators and Crisis Managers in enhancing response capabilities.</li>\n<li>Leverage resilience technologies, including AlertMedia, Archer, and Microsoft-based tools (SharePoint, Power Platform).</li>\n<li>Lead the development, maintenance, and testing of business continuity plans for critical functions.</li>\n<li>Participate in business continuity exercises and prepare after-action reports.</li>\n<li>Use data to create and improve program metrics and reporting.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with partners and key stakeholders to advance business continuity and preparedness initiatives.</li>\n<li>Provide support to department leadership during enterprise-level incidents.</li>\n<li>Act as a change agent to drive program advancement and alignment with strategy.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#39;s degree required; advanced degree or related certification a plus.</li>\n<li>1-3 years of experience in business continuity, crisis management, or relevant technical/business systems roles preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience engaging all organisational levels, including executives.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of continuity planning, crisis management, risk mitigation, or related disciplines preferred.</li>\n<li>Ability to facilitate problem-solving sessions and table-top exercises.</li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.</li>\n<li>Ability to make timely decisions, including under pressure.</li>\n<li>Technical aptitude with ability to learn and support business-owned systems (e.g., mass notification, business continuity planning platforms, SharePoint, Power Platform).</li>\n<li>Innovative, adaptable, and solutions-driven with strong critical-thinking skills.</li>\n<li>Effective team collaborator, including in matrixed or cross-functional environments.</li>\n<li>Analytical skills with interest in learning modern data visualisation methods.</li>\n<li>Self-starter able to balance multiple priorities with minimal supervision.</li>\n<li>Occasional after-hours or on-call support required.</li>\n<li>Basic energy/utility knowledge preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-top:24px;font-size:13px;color:#666;\">XML job scraping automation by <a href=\"https://yubhub.co\">YubHub</a></p>","url":"https://yubhub.co/jobs/job_ce2a536e-f36","directApply":true,"hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Southern Company","sameAs":"https://www.southerncompany.com/","logo":"https://logos.yubhub.co/southerncompany.com.png"},"x-apply-url":"https://emje.fa.us6.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/SouthernCompanyJobs/job/17694","x-work-arrangement":"hybrid","x-experience-level":"mid","x-job-type":"full-time","x-salary-range":null,"x-skills-required":["business continuity","crisis management","resilience technologies","AlertMedia","Archer","Microsoft-based tools","SharePoint","Power Platform"],"x-skills-preferred":[],"datePosted":"2026-04-03T08:40:32.274Z","jobLocation":{"@type":"Place","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressLocality":"Atlanta"}},"employmentType":"FULL_TIME","occupationalCategory":"Operations","industry":"Energy","skills":"business continuity, crisis management, resilience technologies, AlertMedia, Archer, Microsoft-based tools, SharePoint, Power Platform"}]}
