      <Description><![CDATA[<p>We are seeking a Composite Design Engineer to lead the structural design, analysis, and integration of composite materials into our maritime platforms. You will be responsible for developing lightweight, high-performance composite structures optimized for maritime environments and aligned with mission-critical DoD performance and survivability requirements.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<p>Design, analyze, and optimize composite structures for autonomous maritime platforms (hulls, decks, enclosures, etc.)
Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using tools like SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and Fibersim
Perform hand calculations to design and size laminates using CLT tools
Work closely with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and autonomy teams to integrate composite structures with vessel systems
Define material specifications and work with suppliers to source appropriate composite materials to include NCFs, resin systems, adhesives, and core materials
Develop manufacturing plans and collaborate with in-house and external fabricators to support prototype and production builds
Ensure compliance with MIL-STD and DoD structural integrity, weight, and signature management requirements
Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles
Support testing, validation, and qualification of composite assemblies in lab and marine environments</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>Bachelor’s degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
2+ years of experience in composite structural design (aerospace, marine, automotive, or defense)
Strong understanding of composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resin infusion, etc.) and layup techniques
Experience with CAD and FEA software (e.g., Femap (Preferred), ANSYS, Abaqus)
Knowledge of mechanical testing, structural validation, and failure analysis of composite systems</p>

<p><strong>Main tasks</strong></p>

<li>Design and engineer composite components for motorsport applications</li>
<li>Provide technical engineering solutions for lightweight composite problems and designs</li>
<li>3D design (surface design) of composite components across multiple vehicle projects, external (bodywork) and internal</li>
<li>3D detailed design CAD models and assembly installations plus related 2D technical manufacturing and assembly drawings using Catia V5</li>
<li>Define joint design, adhesive and fixing strategies</li>
<li>Generate and define Ply books / laminates with composite and FEA engineers</li>
<li>Support test and validation of composite components plus support design of any required test jigs and or rigs</li>
<li>Support vehicle and test car builds and problem solve technical related issues</li>
<li>Work with suppliers to support tool design, layup optimization and manufacturability of composite components</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical engineering or similar background</li>
<li>At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable environment working with high performance parts</li>
<li>Have a strong composites background with a solid understanding of materials science and mechanical engineering fundamentals</li>
<li>Good knowledge of CAD (CATIA V5 preferable) and 2D or 3D GD&amp;T technical drawing experience</li>
<li>Experience and knowledge of surface design is a plus</li>
<li>Knowledge of PLM System (Windchill preferable)</li>
<li>Ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance and to work under pressure to meet deadlines</li>
<li>Fluent English is compulsory</li>
