<p>Every breakthrough in trade infrastructure has followed the same pattern: reduce a transaction cost, expand the market. Containerization for goods. SWIFT for money. Stripe for payments. Compliance is one of the last and largest , and the hardest, because trade rules aren&#39;t data to be looked up. They&#39;re a complex adaptive system with 190+ sovereign jurisdictions, in different languages, changing constantly, reacting to each other.</p>
<p>Sphere built the system that solves it. Our AI (TRAM) ingests global trade law, interprets it, resolves conflicts across jurisdictions, and produces compliance determinations more reliable than human experts. We handle the entire lifecycle , calculation, registration, filing, remittance , at millisecond latency with zero downtime.</p>
<p><strong>THE ROLE</strong></p>
<p>We’re looking for a swiss army knife / Chief of Staff to work directly with our CEO at [<strong>Sphere</strong>](https://www.getsphere.com/). You&#39;ll be an extension of Nick, helping him across GTM, Ops, Finance, Tax and more. It will be intense (our Founder is an intense person) but you&#39;ll learn more than you would in any other role.</p>

      <Description><![CDATA[<p>The Chief of Staff will make the CEO dramatically more effective by managing bandwidth and priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to operate as a proactive player-coach hybrid. Strategic enough to sit in on a pricing discussion or a legislative briefing and add real value. Tactical enough to make sure every follow-up actually happens. Willing to draft a policy memo at 9am and clean up CRM data at 2pm. The through-line is judgment, ownership, and the ability to context-switch throughout the day.</p>
<p>To facilitate face-to-face work and build internal trust with the CEO, preference will be given to candidates located in the NY metro area. Remote candidates willing to travel frequently will be considered, but local is strongly preferred.</p>
<p><strong>Deal &amp; Pipeline Support</strong> Deal &amp; Pipeline Support - Government sales cycles are long, complex, and unforgiving. You&#39;ll own CRM hygiene, prep the CEO for meetings (pulling background on agencies, legislators, and procurement officers), draft follow-up emails, and track where every opportunity stands. Nothing falls through the cracks between a conference handshake and an RFP response.</p>
<p><strong>AI-Driven Process Improvement</strong> You&#39;ll have a standing mandate to find places where AI can create velocity. That might mean building a monitoring pipeline that auto-summarizes new state-level identity legislation, setting up AI-assisted meeting prep workflows that pull relevant context before every government call, or creating drafting tools that let the CEO review and ship content in a fraction of the time.</p>
<p><strong>Strategic Research &amp; Synthesis</strong> In govtech and digital identity, the landscape shifts fast: new NIST frameworks, state-level legislative changes, competitor moves, procurement shifts. You&#39;ll proactively monitor these developments, synthesize them into digestible briefs, and flag what matters to the CEO.</p>
<p><strong>Communications &amp; Content Leverage</strong> The CEO frequently represents the company as a thought leader and public face, speaking at conferences, writing policy memos, and briefing legislators. You&#39;ll draft, edit, and polish these outputs. Turn a rough voice memo into a polished one-pager. Prep speaker notes. Ghost-draft blog content that positions the company in the market.</p>
<p><strong>Cross-Functional Gap-Filling</strong> Running a hiring process one week, managing event prep the next, jumping into a partner integration workstream after that. The willingness and ability to move fluidly across these contexts will be critical to success in this role.</p>
<p><strong>Travel</strong> Based in the U.S. (NY metro preferred) and willing to travel as needed to meet with government clients and attend company events.</p>

<p>Act as a thought partner to the Founder on strategic, organisational and commercial topics.</p>
<p>Work with the Founder and CEO to ensure strategic direction is communicated to the leadership team with a clear roadmap in place.</p>
<p>Attend key internal and external meetings alongside the Founder to document decisions, actions and owners, ensure strategic intent is clearly understood, and drive disciplined follow-up and delivery.</p>
<p>Maintain a clear view of Founder-level commitments and decisions, ensuring nothing is lost between intent and execution.</p>
<p>Support preparation for board, investor and market-facing presentations, ensuring strategic clarity, strong commercial narrative and robust data and financial grounding.</p>
<p>Review trading updates, performance dashboards and financial outputs, synthesising key insights and implications for the Founder.</p>
<p>Support long-range and annual strategic planning cycles, ensuring alignment between ambition, resources and execution.</p>
<p>Day-to-day liaison between the Founder and business leaders/external clients to ensure the successful activation of key business initiatives, ensuring alignment and accountability.</p>
<p>Liaise on critical issues and collaborate with/coordinate business leaders to resolve.</p>
<p>Act as first point of review for presentations and proposals requiring the Founder’s approval, and ensuring appropriate briefing meeting with internal stakeholders are actioned.</p>
<p>Collaborate with the Founder’s EA Team to ensure effective prioritisation of time and schedule management.</p>
<p>Coordinate and/or lead ad-hoc projects, presentations, and briefs of strategic importance to Founder.</p>
<p>About you:</p>
<p>Experience working in a high growth company, ideally with direct Founder experience.</p>
<p>Excellent communicator in written and verbal form, with a focus on interdepartmental communication.</p>
<p>Proven success in planning and leading cross functional projects.</p>
