You will maintain a high weld and sealing quality process, by following the Ford control plan.
\nWhen it comes to our best-in-class welding operations, your expertise is what will literally hold things together. That’s because we’re relying on you to lead the joining activities for a variety of assigned new model launches.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\nAssessing joining feasibility through Global Product Development System milestones. Applying knowledge of welding processes, procedures, equipment, and evaluation techniques to deliver weld quality objectives. Implementing weld certification strategy during launch and product or process change events. Leading weld inspection team. Developing weld control plans and enforcing requirements. Applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Implementing interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6-panel, etc. Identifying sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently. Supporting expedited concern resolution with multi-functional teams including the Quality Dept, Production, and Suppliers. Reviewing incoming quality concerns to maintain quality within Body Area and initiating containment as vital, resolving root cause and implementing corrective actions. Ability to work any shift, as well as rotating shifts and weekends.
\nTo be successful in this role, you will need:
\nAssociate’s degree in Weld engineering with a minimum of 3 years of Resistance Spot welding (RSW), Drawn Arc welding, Robotic welding and joining experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiar with Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Must have the ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends.
\nEven better, you may have:
\nBachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering. Previous experience within a high-volume production facility. Previous automotive, maintenance, welding engineering and quality analysis experience. NDT(non-destructive testing) L1, L2 Certified. Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
