Project Galileo: Since 2014, we've equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost. Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states. 1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released.

Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!

You'll build repeatable processes where they're needed while staying nimble enough to handle novel partnership structures, like research collaborations, civil society consultations, and model red-teaming engagements that don't fit neatly into standard procurement workflows.

You'll work closely with legal, procurement, finance, and engineering teams, and you'll be the person who knows where every Safeguards contract stands, what we're spending, and where we should consider a change.

This is a role for someone who's comfortable operating across commercial, legal, and technical contexts in a fast-moving environment , someone who can negotiate contract terms, work with legal teams to redline contracts, set up model access for a research partner, and handle a vendor performance issue in one day.

Responsibilities:

Vendor Selection & Onboarding - Understand the broad vendor landscape for Safeguards and drive vendor selection processes with expert input, factoring in tradeoffs between capability, price, and internal resources across categories including verification, threat intelligence, process outsourcing, and capability evaluation

Forecast future partnership needs and proactively research vendors and partners that could meet emerging Safeguards requirements

Contract & Budget Management - Manage contracts across the Safeguards vendor and partner portfolio, working with legal and procurement teams on contract redlining, negotiation, and execution

Work with legal teams and potential research partners to develop novel agreements for research collaboration, civil society consultation, and model red-teaming

Handle invoicing, payment, and renewal processes with partners

Own Safeguards vendor budget tracking and planning in partnership with finance teams, maintaining a clear picture of current spend and forecasting future needs

Ongoing Vendor & Partner Management - Manage vendor and researcher access to models and products during testing phases and trials

Oversee and monitor vendor performance and usage, flagging issues and resolving concerns and disputes as they arise

Report on vendor performance, spend, and contract status to Safeguards leadership

You may be a good fit if you have:

5+ years in vendor management, procurement, or contract operations, ideally in risk, fraud, compliance, or trust & safety contexts at a technology company

Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating contracts, including comfort with redlining and working alongside legal counsel

Track record managing vendor budgets, including forecasting, tracking spend, and making tradeoff recommendations

Understanding of AI safety, account abuse, or platform integrity issues , you know what verification vendors, threat intelligence providers, and content screening tools actually do

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with legal, procurement, finance, and engineering teams

Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving environments , you've built or significantly improved vendor management processes, not just inherited them

Experience in AI safety or AI-adjacent vendor ecosystems

Familiarity with procurement tools such as Ironclad or Zip

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work.

Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links, visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.

How we're different:

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact , advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI , rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research.
Certification Development Lead

About the Role

Anthropic is seeking a Certification Development Lead to build and scale a best-in-class certification program for our partner ecosystem.

We've launched our first certification, the Claude Certified Architect, Foundations (CCA-F), and now we need someone to turn that first credential into a comprehensive, multi-tiered program that our systems integrator, consulting, and technology partners rely on to demonstrate real competence with Claude.

This is a 0-to-1 build. You'll define the certification strategy, design the credential architecture, and build the program infrastructure from the ground up, all with our partner audience at the center.

You'll work at the intersection of program design and subject matter expertise: identifying what partners need to know, structuring the path to get them there, and collaborating with internal SMEs to ensure the content reflects how Claude actually works and where it's headed.

The systems and tooling that deliver certifications are being built by a separate team; your focus is the program itself, the credentialing framework, the partner experience, and the cross-functional relationships that keep it all connected.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end certification program: define the vision, build the credentialing framework, and establish the multi-tiered certification path that scales with Anthropic’s partner ecosystem

Design certification architectures, competency frameworks, and assessment methodologies that measure real applied skill, not just content exposure

Build with the partner audience in mind: understand the needs, workflows, and incentives of SI, consulting, and technology partners, and design credentialing experiences that meet them where they are

Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across Applied AI, Product, and Engineering to translate Claude’s evolving capabilities into rigorous, current certification content

Partner with trainers and to ensure alignment between training delivery and credentialing requirements, so the learning journey and credential path reinforce each other

Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, GTM Productivity, and Revenue Operations to connect certification outcomes to partner performance, pipeline attribution, and ecosystem health metrics

Define and manage relationships with credentialing vendors and collaborate with the systems owner on platform and delivery infrastructure decisions

Establish quality standards for assessments including validity, reliability, and fairness, and use assessment data to continuously improve the program

Build the operational processes around certification lifecycle management: development, launch, renewal, versioning, and retirement of credentials as Claude’s capabilities evolve

Requirements

7+ years in certification program design, credentialing, developer education, or partner enablement, with demonstrated experience building programs from scratch, not just maintaining existing ones

A track record of 0-to-1 builds: you’ve stood up a certification or credentialing program where one didn’t exist before, defined the strategy, earned stakeholder buy-in, and shipped it

Deep understanding of partner ecosystems, particularly SI and consulting partner audiences, and the ability to design certification experiences that drive real adoption and competency within those organizations

Strong educational design instincts: you think in terms of competency frameworks, learning progressions, and what it actually means to demonstrate mastery versus having been exposed to content

Experience with assessment methodologies beyond multiple-choice, including performance-based assessment, portfolio evaluation, or scenario-based testing that measures applied skill

Baseline fluency with AI and technology products, with the ability and curiosity to learn Claude’s product suite deeply enough to articulate the “why” behind each certification tier and competency requirement

Clear, structured communication and the ability to work with non-education stakeholders (partnerships, sales, engineering) while maintaining rigorous program standards

Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, making decisions with incomplete information, and iterating quickly based on partner and internal feedback

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing relationships with credentialing vendors (Pearson, Credly, or similar) and navigating the operational complexity of third-party certification delivery

Familiarity with certification program economics: pricing, packaging, and the business model decisions that make a program sustainable

Background in technical credentialing specifically, such as cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) or developer platform credentials

Knowledge of psychometrics, credential validation, or assessment quality frameworks

Experience benchmarking and learning from best-in-class programs from peer organizations

Prior work at a high-growth technology company navigating rapid product change

Logistics

Annual compensation range: $270,000-$365,000 USD

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience

Minimum years of experience: 7+ years

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas!

About the Team

OpenAI Finance is responsible for ensuring the organization is set up for success in pursuit of its mission.

OpenAI’s Tax and Trade team sits at the center of OpenAI’s global growth—shaping how cutting-edge AI products, partnerships, and infrastructure scale across borders while navigating complex tax, trade, and regulatory regimes. We operate as strategic operators, not just compliance experts, embedding early in product, finance, policy, and infrastructure decisions to manage risk, unlock incentives, and enable OpenAI to grow responsibly and competitively worldwide.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Tax Technology Lead (Vertex) to own the design, configuration, and long-term evolution of OpenAI’s tax engine architecture.

You will play a foundational role in building one of the most advanced tax technology platforms in the industry - supporting global digital products, high-volume real-time checkout flows, and rapidly evolving monetization models across dozens of jurisdictions. This role is not simply maintaining a tax engine; it is designing the architecture that ensures tax determination is reliable, scalable, and deeply integrated into OpenAI’s product infrastructure. The person in this role will help define how tax operates as a production system across billing, payments, and financial reporting as OpenAI scales globally.

In this role, you will lead the implementation and ongoing operation of Vertex as the core tax determination platform integrated into OpenAI’s checkout, billing, and financial systems. You will sit at the intersection of Tax, Financial Engineering, Product Engineering, and Finance Systems, ensuring that tax logic is accurate, scalable, auditable, and production-grade across OpenAI’s rapidly evolving global products and monetization models.

In this Role, you will:

Lead the end-to-end configuration and lifecycle management of the Vertex platform, including Vertex O Series, Vertex Edge, and future modules as OpenAI’s product footprint expands.

Design and maintain tax determination logic across real-time checkout flows, invoicing systems, and downstream financial reporting environments.

Ensure consistent tax engine behavior across environments (sandbox, staging, production) and aligned with product and billing architectures.

Custom Rule Development: Design and implement custom taxability drivers, material group logic, and Pre/Post-Tax Assist rules to handle complex business scenarios.

Entity Management: Create and customize new taxpayers (company codes) within the system for new business projects and acquisitions.

Work closely with Financial Engineering, Product Engineering, and Business Systems teams to define tax engine requirements, APIs, data contracts, and integration patterns.

Support checkout flows, including e-commerce scenarios, ensuring correct tax sourcing and liability determination.

Integrate Vertex outputs into billing and ERP environments, including GL mapping, jurisdictional reporting, reconciliation logic, e-invoicing requirements.

Manage tax engine configuration updates including taxability rules, product mappings, jurisdiction logic and exemptions.

Develop and execute robust testing frameworks including unit, integration, and regression testing to validate tax outcomes prior to deployment.

Participate in projects from early design through production deployment with a strong focus on accuracy, observability, and system reliability.

Design and maintain internal controls over tax systems to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Support tax audits by providing traceable tax data, reconciliations to ERP, and transaction-level documentation.

Monitor tax engine performance, identify anomalies, and proactively remediate system issues.

Build documentation and operational playbooks that make tax systems understandable, maintainable, and scalable across teams.

Research Engineer, Environment Scaling

About the role

The Environment Scaling team is a team of researchers and engineers whose goal is to improve the intelligence of our public models for novel verticals and use cases. The team builds the training environments that fuel RL at scale. This is a unique role that combines executing directly on ML research, data operations, and project management to improve our models. You'll own the end-to-end process of creating RL environments for new capabilities: identifying high-value tasks, designing reward signals, managing vendor relationships, and measuring impact on model performance.

Responsibilities:

Improve and execute our fine-tuning strategies for adapting Claude to new domains and tasks

Manage technical relationships with external data vendors, including evaluation of data quality and reward design

Collaborate with domain experts to design data pipelines and evaluations

Explore novel ways of creating RL environments for high value tasks

Develop and improve QA frameworks to catch reward hacking and ensure environment quality

Partner with other RL research teams and product teams to translate capability goals into training environments and evals

You may be a good fit if you:

Have experience with fine-tuning large language models for specific domains or real-world use cases and/or domain expertise in an area where we would like to make our models more useful.

Have experience with reinforcement learning, reward design, or training data curation for LLMs

Are comfortable managing technical vendor relationships and iterating quickly on feedback

Find value in reading through datasets to understand them and spot issues

Have strong project management and interpersonal skills

Are passionate about making AI more useful and accessible across different industries

Are excited about a role that includes a combination of ML research, data operations, and project management

Strong candidates may also:

Have experience training production ML systems

Be familiar with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure

Have domain expertise in an area where we would like to make our models more useful

Have experience working with external vendors or technical partners

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles.

This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Partner closely with engineering, legal, and finance to balance trade-offs, serve as the single point of contact for Research/Scaling and other orgs, and ensure engagements are strategic rather than transactional to maximize OpenAI’s long-term leverage.
