We are seeking a Service Engineer to support a customer in Pontiac, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering professional and customer-oriented services according to customer requirements and CS processes. This includes maintenance, calibration, and repair of measurement equipment within testing facilities, as well as installation and installation supervision of AVL products.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\nActing as Liaison and company representative for customers Performing at customer sites; test equipment installation, configuration, maintenance, and calibration to AVL specifications Troubleshooting and repairing products to AVL specifications following defined processes Professional and timely completion of service and commissioning reports and other administrative responsibilities Actively participating in developing one's own training plan and exhibiting ownership in completing training towards realization of selected diplomas and competency Providing feedback and improvement suggestions on troubleshooting guides and continuous improvement methods to increase operating equipment effectiveness (O.E.E.) Generating calibration certificates, service reports, and being responsible for evaluation and presentation of results Performing Hotline support as required, including the use of reporting tools, Helpdesk II, etc. The ability to communicate with customers in a professional way and independently describe, categorize, analyze, and solve service requests and issues Timely follow-up on items and the ability to drive issues to closure Completing all applicable safety training Must be willing to travel Other tasks as assigned

\nProvide feedback and improvement suggestions on troubleshooting guides and continuous improvement methods to increase operating equipment effectiveness (O.E.E.).
\nPerform in-house repair, postproduction operation tests of new equipment as required.
\nPerform manufacturing shop floor tasks as assigned by manager.
\nMaintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with 5S standards.
\nThe ability to communicate with customers in a professional way and in the ability to independently describe, categorize, analyze and solve service requests and issues.
\nAbility to present informal operator instruction on AVL products and test systems.
\nTimely follow up on items and the ability to drive issues to closure.
\nMaintains assigned calibration equipment.
\nComplete all applicable safety training.
\nQualifications/Skills:
\nAssociate’s degree in engineering or equivalent trade school.
\nExperienced reading / interpreting USA ladder and European IEC book prints.
\n2+ years’ experience with test automation equipment and test bed operations.
\nLeadership/ coordinator experience.
\nUnderstanding of electrical and mechanical processes.
\nKnowledge of complete test cell operation and its contents is a bonus.
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
\nThe ability to cope with negative feedback from customers, exhibit patience and possess excellent listening skills.
\nAble to read / understand control circuits. Power up / troubleshoot equipment.
\nMust be willing to travel 90%+
