\nThe Role\nBelong is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer with a strong foundation in C# who is eager to grow, learn, and contribute to both backend development and day-to-day production operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants meaningful ownership, exposure to real production systems, and the opportunity to work across engineering and business operations.
\nResponsibilities\nBackend Engineering\nDevelop and maintain backend services and APIs using C#/.NET.\nContribute to new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across our core systems.\nWrite clean, maintainable, tested code with guidance from senior engineers.\nParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies.\nCollaborate with cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver improvements.
\nProduction Support & Operations\nExecute operational workflows such as:\nInitiating and validating homeowner payouts\nSending security deposits\nInvestigating payment failures and resolving root causes\nWorking directly with our providers\nPerforming lease corrections and ensuring data accuracy\nMonitor system health and escalate issues when necessary\nHelp improve internal tools and automation to reduce manual work across teams.\nDocument recurring issues and contribute to long-term fixes.
\nAI-Enabled Productivity\nUse AI-driven tools to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and repetitive operational tasks.\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual workflows in partnership with engineering and operations teams.
\nWhat We’re Looking For\n1–3 years of software engineering experience, ideally in backend development.\nSolid understanding of C#, .NET, and RESTful APIs.\nInterest or experience in production operations, support tasks, or QA-like validation work.\nA proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a high sense of ownership.\nAbility to troubleshoot issues across systems and communicate findings clearly.\nWillingness to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.\nCuriosity, humility, eagerness to learn, and comfort asking questions.
