Job Purpose

To contribute to the development of functioning prototypes that will eventually become production ATV/SxS vehicles, researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop or guide others to develop complex component and system layouts for ATV/SxS prototype vehicles using computer-aided design software that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites without supervision. Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings that result in setting the final specifications of global ATV & SxS new models and mass production vehicles. Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required. Delegate work appropriately.
• Establish or lead others to establish cost targets for responsible parts that contribute to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets through optimising difficult part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas and strategies.
• Create and manage schedule of individual work or other's work to ensure deadlines are met, coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilise contractor resources without supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.
• Generate advanced ideas and contribute to building comprehensive strategies that support the evolution of new technologies. Support or lead maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with limited supervision.
• Support or lead market quality themes without supervision. Utilise problem-solving methods to analyse root causes. Develop and implement C/M specs as necessary without supervision. Lead recurrence prevention when appropriate.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in related field.
• Minimum Experience: 5+ years engineering experience preferably in Powersports or Automotive field.

Job Purpose

Lead the daily design, operational and administrative functions, including department policy/business process management, process improvement management, organisational/resource management, and preventing/resolving issues to ensure the function group focuses on efficient and effective output.

Key Accountabilities

• Direct a multi-functional team consisting of several design engineers, controls engineers, and contingents to output key contents such as specifications, confirmation results/judgments, and drawings for concurrent model developments. Provide leadership to the function group for balancing priorities, overcoming obstacles, aligning expectations with stakeholders, and managing work hours to minimise risks for not achieving targets.

• Decide assignments for the entirety of work within the function group, conduct associate performance reviews to provide feedback on results and instruction on personal development, and supply supervisor with input on associate career planning to yield successive leadership. Actively contribute in the hiring process with the Unit Head to identify/select candidates for maintaining target headcount.

• Ensure the function group is communicating and collaborating internally on a regular basis to align output, drive collaboration between design/purchasing on issues that result in improving our cost characteristics, and maintain awareness of topics relevant to their daily work. Create an environment of strong communication to avoid conflicts and aid in better decision-making.

• Represent the function group viewpoint to assist management in discussions related to resource planning, equipment needs, associate matters, and project responsibilities.

• Substitute for the department manager occasionally for responsibilities related to travel approvals, timekeeping, and/or facility access to prevent disruptions of business operations.
