You will build a roadmap, disambiguate the work, and drive priorities for your team, based on a mid to long-term vision you’ll help develop for the team. You will manage, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team of 8 engineers, providing frequent feedback and building cohesion in a widely distributed team. You will advocate, unblock, and represent the team within the organization. You will actively participate in the wider Engineering Productivity and Infrastructure management cohorts. You will participate in our Major Incidents on-call rotation as Incident Commander. You will identify and implement processes that improve team productivity and software quality.

You will have experience leading diverse teams of software engineers as a line manager (people manager). You will have experience leading engineering projects that cross engineering teams. You will have experience as a hands-on software engineer and strength in computer science fundamentals to understand the engineering work that is going on in your team. You will have strong written and spoken English communication skills. You will have superb organizational skills, stakeholder management skills, and project management capabilities. You will have demonstrated ability to drive technical vision, operational rigor, and cross-team collaboration. You will have a compassionate approach to communication, a good sense of humor, and a genuine curiosity about the success and growth of the people you work with. You will have experienced in designing and scaling developer experience, making engineers faster, not just building tools. You will know how to measure what matters (DORA, SPACE, cycle time) without surveillance.

This role is in the form of base salary. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is $128,300-$203,000 CAD.
