<p>Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>Create control/estimation algorithms for various body control features like window control, closure system, and lighting.</p>
<p>Lead the design and integration of various body controls hardware components on electrical test assets such as benches, bucks, labcars, and vehicles.</p>
<p>Collaborate with software integration teams to bring up core functions and broadcast software level requirements to electrical hardware and systems teams.</p>
<p>Understand functional safety principles and participate in functional safety analyses of complex vehicle subsystems.</p>
<p>Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough testing to validate firmware functionality, stability, and performance under various conditions, including low power modes.</p>
<p>Spearhead body controls feature development, working cross-functionally with hardware, software, architecture, and many other teams to author feature boundary diagrams and validation strategies.</p>
<p>Author subsystem block diagrams and lead subsystem reviews through all vehicle program development phases</p>
<p>Early phases of firmware development will focus on hardware validation, labcar testing, and setting up the automation framework for unit, SIL and HIL testing.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, with evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent experience.</p>
<p>7+ years of experience on electrical hardware applications, prototype bring-up, and systems development.</p>
<p>7+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN &amp; Automotive Ethernet</p>
<p>Strong EE fundamentals and hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, etc.)</p>
<p>7+ years of experience using embedded networking interface tools for automotive, aerospace, or similar field.</p>
<p>Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, battery technologies, software/hardware tool development, motor calibration technologies, OBD calibration, functional safety, network, and diagnostics process</p>
<p>Experience with creating and executing component-level test procedures and owning all test results.</p>

      <Title>Staff High-Voltage Software Integration Engineer – BMS and Power Conversion</Title>
      <Description><![CDATA[<p>Our team develops firmware and controls for HV embedded systems including battery management systems, power converters, charging, and motor controls. In this role, you will be collaborating with many cross-functional teams from electrical architecture, systems, and other platform software engineers for firmware development through all stages of program development.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<p>Integrate core battery controls and application software components at pack and vehicle level.</p>
<p>Coordinate BMS software development efforts to ensure alignment with defined requirements and integration with other system components (Charge Port, OBC, DC/DC, Inverter, Thermal System, etc.).</p>
<p>Develop HV embedded controls software from low-level base software, diagnostics, and controls application firmware modules.</p>
<p>Verify the performance and reliability of the BMS algorithms using battery packs / cells and battery cyclers</p>
<p>Tune and optimize controls calibration parameters to improve performance</p>
<p>Support battery pack manufacturing and DV troubleshooting efforts.</p>
<p>Develop and maintain unit, MIL, and SIL tests to validate software.</p>
<p>Define and specify interfaces between application software and firmware.</p>
<p>Work with/resolve ambiguity in requirements/specifications/designs.</p>
<p>Enforce quality by helping define test cases with test team by providing detailed requirements and supporting documentation when needed</p>
<p>Collaborate with platform software, validation, and analytics teams to implement and refine algorithms, and integrate feedback from field and lab data.</p>
<p>Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough testing to validate firmware functionality, stability, and performance under various conditions.</p>
<p>Extract and document detailed component-level requirements for battery management systems and power electronics, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, systems engineering) to ensure alignment with overall vehicle objectives.</p>
<p>Contribute to firmware, hardware, systems, and functional safety design reviews.</p>
<p>Participate in functional safety and failure avoidance analysis of complex electrical and software vehicle subsystems (HARAs, FMEAs, etc.).</p>
<p>Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to key stakeholders and management.</p>
<p>Collaborate with mechanical, hardware and system team for seamless integration of hardware and software components.</p>
