The Workers Observability (WOBS) Team provides a growing suite of tools to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize applications on the Cloudflare Developer platform. These tools increasingly work across Cloudflare products to provide complete visibility into user applications.

As a Software Engineer on the WOBS Team, you will own code across the development lifecycle from design to release including QA, incident management, and performance optimization. You will be responsible for designing and shipping core software features across the observability stack - including the frontend customer experience, integrations with other Cloudflare primitives, and our internal data stores and ingestion pipelines.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features, and collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software that meets the performance requirements of Cloudflare's systems.

Success in this role will depend on becoming an expert not just on the observability platform, but on the Cloudflare Developer Platform as a whole. You will need to have strong proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably a typed language (e.g. Go, TypeScript, Rust) as well as SQL, and experience building high-volume distributed systems using cloud primitives (AWS, GCP, CF), including queues, key-value stores, relational databases, blob storage, and serverless compute.

You will also need to have experience troubleshooting distributed data systems including working with logs and data stores. A working knowledge of lower-level languages like Rust or C++ and building frontend applications in Typescript and React is a plus.

• Working familiarity with Linux desktop environments , comfortable navigating the platform, understanding developer workflows, and answering environment/tooling questions

• Conceptual understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) and how developers leverage these tools in their workflows

• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) , enough to understand developer pipelines and identify friction points

• Problem reproduction and triage skills , ability to recreate reported issues in the environment and clearly document/escalate to engineering with relevant context

• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., LLM-based assistants, copilots) to assist in problem diagnosis, research, and knowledge synthesis

• Basic scripting literacy (Bash, Python) , enough to read, understand, and run existing scripts; not necessarily write complex automation from scratch

Qualifications / Skills Desired:

The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
