Deployment Engineer

About Cyngn

Based in Mountain View, CA, Cyngn is a publicly-traded autonomous technology company. We deploy self-driving industrial vehicles - specifically autonomous tuggers - to factories, warehouses, and other facilities throughout North America.

To build this emergent technology, we are looking for innovative, motivated, and experienced leaders to join us and move this field forward. If you like to build, tinker, and create with a team of trusted and passionate colleagues, then Cyngn is the place for you.

Key reasons to join Cyngn:

We are small and big. With under 100 employees, Cyngn operates with the energy of a startup. On the other hand, we’re publicly traded. This means our employees not only work in close-knit teams with mentorship from company leaders, they also get access to the liquidity of our publicly-traded equity.

We build today and deploy tomorrow. Our autonomous vehicles aren’t just test concepts, they’re deployed to real clients right now. That means your work will have a tangible, visible impact.

We aren’t robots. We just develop them. We’re a welcoming, diverse team of sharp thinkers and kind humans. Collaboration and trust drive our creative environment. At Cyngn, everyone’s perspective matters, and that’s what powers our innovation.

About this role:

As a Deployment Engineer, you are the technical architect of a live customer site. You move beyond just "fixing" hardware to "optimizing" autonomy. You will lead the deployment lifecycle from the moment the hardware arrives until the customer signs off on a fully autonomous workflow. You will also be in charge of maintaining the fleet through tier 1 support and map maintenance. You are the primary technical point of contact for the customer on-site for any issues and implementing their needs.

Responsibilities

Deployment & Field Operations

Lead end-to-end deployment of autonomous robotic systems at customer facilities.

Conduct site surveys and assess automation readiness, infrastructure constraints, and ODD requirements.

Generate 3D and semantic maps and validate localization and navigation performance.

Install, configure, calibrate, and commission robotic systems in live production environments.

Train customer operators, maintenance teams, and site stakeholders; manage handoff to support.

Work directly with the Customer Solutions Engineering team to take their designs in a handoff and perform a full implementation and betterment of these designs.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Define and lead the final testing phase during the implementation, proving to the customer that the system meets all safety and throughput Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Perform the handoff and orientation of the vehicle with the customer as well as part of the handoff.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the primary technical point of contact during deployments and early operations.

Work directly with customer IT teams to configure networks, resolve firewall/port issues, and ensure reliable connectivity.

Run regular performance reviews with customers, using data to drive operational improvements and adoption.

Head the deployment of the routes on site, and coordinate with the customer to make sure these routes remain optimized over time.
