<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>
<p>Electronic Arts is seeking a talented Software Engineer I to join our Online Backend team. As a key member of our team, you will design and implement scalable, distributed backend systems that power our matchmaking, integrated in EA&#39;s biggest titles and enjoyed by millions of players worldwide.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Design brand new services covering all aspects from storage to application logic to management console</li>
<li>Enhance and add features to existing systems</li>
<li>Communicate with engineers from across the company to deliver the next generation of online features for both established and not-yet-released games</li>
<li>Aim to optimize performance and scalability of server systems</li>
<li>Be a part of the full product cycle for our products, from design and testing to deployment and supporting our LIVE environments and our game team customers</li>
<li>Maintain a suite of automated tests that validate the correctness of backend services</li>
<li>Build and maintain a build system</li>
<li>Advocate for best practices within the engineering team</li>
<li>Work with product managers to improve new features to support EA&#39;s business</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor/Master&#39;s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field</li>
<li>Experience in software development with Go, C#, or C++</li>
<li>Solid computer science background including algorithm and data structure usage</li>
<li>Experience with cloud computing products such as AWS EC2</li>
<li>Experience with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform</li>
<li>Experience with relational or NoSQL database</li>
<li>Adept at solving complex technical problems</li>
<li>Strong sense of collaboration</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Bonus Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with Jenkins and Groovy</li>
<li>Experience with Ansible</li>
<li>Knowledge of Google gRPC and protobuf</li>
<li>Experience with high traffic services and highly scalable, distributed systems</li>
<li>Knowledge of scalable data storage and processing technologies such as Cassandra, Apache Spark, and AWS S3</li>
<li>Experience with stress testing plus performance tuning and optimization</li>
<li>Experience working within the games industries</li>
</ul>
