<p>The Senior GMAL&#39;s influence is enterprise-wide,shaping global medical agendas through Global Medical Team, Global Product Team, and Disease Area Team leadership, and deep partnership with Medical and Commercial functions in markets and regions worldwide. This role demands a leader who champions innovative, disruptive thinking,identifies and shapes breakthrough opportunities, reimagines market dynamics, and accelerates high-impact evidence generation and medical change initiatives.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include: Strategy &amp; Transformation: Design and lead the implementation of product and disease area strategies, as well as ambitious practice change initiatives, at a global level. Medical Evidence Leadership: Own the evidence generation strategy, demonstrating advanced experience in clinical research, interventional trials (Phases 2–4), and real-world evidence (RWE) programs. <p>Essential qualifications include: Doctoral-level degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Medical, Marketing, R&amp;D, Market Access), or extensive experience within a health system (clinical, pharmacy, pathway design, etc.) Demonstrated leadership in complex, global healthcare environments, including leading franchise/TA business in key markets, driving brand performance, and managing large, diverse teams. Advanced experience designing, leading, and interpreting clinical research programs, including pivotal clinical trials (Ph2–Ph4), practice-changing RWE studies, and implementation of innovative evidence generation approaches. Broad experience beyond Medical Affairs; for example, prior roles in Marketing, R&amp;D, or Market Access. <p>Total Rewards: The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $243,586 to $365,379. <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Policy Development and Operations team is responsible for identifying, tracking, and analyzing emerging legislative and regulatory proposals globally. They lead and coordinate the development of global public policy positions that are informed by legislative trends and OpenAI&#39;s unique technical expertise, coordinate policy campaigns across regions, and integrate regional perspectives in order to represent Global Affairs in company-wide initiatives such as product launches.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop proactive policy positions by working closely with regional teams to analyze legislative and regulatory proposals and provide issue-area expertise.</li>
<li>Synthesize legislative trends and regional insights, apply cross-functional perspectives, and exercise policy judgement to clearly articulate key decisions, trade-offs, and areas of alignment or disagreement.</li>
<li>Help evolve the team&#39;s policy development processes and systems to support effective engagement across regions and campaigns, enabling Global Affairs to prioritize issues, allocate resources, and respond to emerging policy developments.</li>
<li>Contribute to the Global Affairs team&#39;s broader thinking about what proactive policies to advance and advocate for and how to best position those policies to succeed around the globe.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>

<li>3+ years of experience in policy development, public policy, or a related field.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and concise language.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.</li>

<p>With Codex we’re building an AI software engineer. One that you can pair with, delegate to, or even ask to take on future tasks proactively. Our team is a fast-moving group within OpenAI, bringing together research, engineering, design, and product. We iteratively build the Codex agent harness and product to get the most out of the model, and we iteratively train the model to be great at complex software engineering tasks.</p>

<p>As we grow, we’re focused on turning Codex from a powerful individual tool into a production-grade teammate for entire organisations. You will work across internal OpenAI teams and external customers, from fast-moving startups to large enterprises, to make it possible to deploy, operate, and trust Codex in increasingly demanding real-world environments.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>

<li>Shape the evolution of Codex by identifying how teams actually use (and break) AI-powered software engineering, and driving changes across product, infrastructure, and model behavior to make Codex a truly reliable teammate for organisations.</li>

<li>Build the core team and enterprise primitives that make Codex usable at scale, including RBAC, admin and audit surfaces, usage, rate limits and pricing controls, managed configuration and constraints, and analytics that give teams and operators deep visibility into how Codex is being used.</li>

<li>Design and own secure, observable, full-stack systems that power Codex across web, IDEs, CLI, and CI/CD, integrating with enterprise identity and governance systems (SSO/SAML/OIDC, SCIM, policy enforcement) and building data-access patterns that are performant, compliant, and trustworthy.</li>
