Evaluate new legal technology solutions, from prototyping and vendor assessment through integration and user adoption.

Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Security, Trust & Safety, and People teams to streamline legal dependencies and implement scalable system integrations with platforms such as Salesforce and Zuora.

Create dashboards, reporting infrastructure, and data models that support legal analytics, leadership visibility, compliance automation, and customer-facing guidance on product-specific metrics.

Requirements:

Experience building, configuring, or significantly customising legal technology systems beyond basic administration.

Knowledge of in-house legal workflows, including contracts, compliance, intake, and matter management.

Ability to work with technical tools such as contract lifecycle management platforms, workflow automation tools, SQL or database querying, application programming interface integrations, or scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.

Comfort translating between legal, technical, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into clear technical solutions.

Experience supporting cross-functional work with teams such as Sales, Finance, Security, Trust & Safety, or People.

Ability to build structured reporting or data solutions that support operational decisions, compliance processes, or legal analytics.

Strong written and verbal English communication skills for success in a remote, largely asynchronous environment.

About the team: The Legal & Corporate Affairs team supports GitLab by helping the business move efficiently while managing legal and compliance risk. Within that function, this role focuses on the systems, workflows, and data infrastructure that power legal operations, from contract lifecycle management and e-billing to compliance automation and reporting.

You'll work with a distributed group of legal and cross-functional partners across regions, using asynchronous collaboration to design solutions that scale across the company.

Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human

Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organisations to safely embrace this new era.

Architectural Influence: Design and validate the effectiveness of preventative control chains and influence the selection and architecture of new security solutions.

Incident Response: Serve as the technical lead for major incidents, including investigating threats in 'foreign' or uncommon environments by leveraging frameworks and your professional network.

Global Mindset

While Okta maintains a 24x7 posture, there is a requirement to be available in a crisis out of (your business) hours, and as a thought leader, to interface with colleagues globally.

Strategic Execution

Project Ownership: Own multi-quarter objectives and drive them to success, developing project plans that align with Okta’s strategic VMTs (Vision, Metrics, and Targets) and budget.

Problem Solving: Navigate issues of diverse scope, analysing data against current business trends to provide innovative solutions.

Innovation: Secure resources for and drive innovation initiatives across multiple teams, facilitating cross-functional workshops to generate new security solutions.

Team Advocacy & Mentorship

Culture Building: Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment by sharing wins, rewarding team efforts, and encouraging diverse perspectives.

Mentorship: Act as an advisor to junior colleagues, providing actionable feedback and helping others align their career goals with organisational objectives.

Consensus Driving: Drive consensus and resolve issues within cross-functional teams, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on security priorities.

Who You Are

Expert Investigator: You have a deep understanding of threat actor TTPs and can navigate complex systems even when documentation is sparse.

Effective Communicator: You can translate complex technical problems for any audience, from executive leadership to junior analysts.

Resilient Leader: You have a 'bottom-line' orientation, persisting through obstacles and setbacks to achieve results.

Self-Aware & Empathetic: You proactively seek feedback, know your limits, and lead with empathy and compassion.

Collaboratively Minded: You prioritise the development of others and establish internal and external networks of coaches and mentors.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a high-growth SaaS or security-focused environment.

Expertise in querying languages, detection frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK), and modern IR toolsets.

Scale Your Impact: Advise and empower program managers and vendors to drive day-to-day execution so that you can focus on addressing high priority opportunities.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

Proficient in SQL and Python for data analysis, including querying databases, processing large datasets, and generating actionable insights

Proficient in Python for interacting with various tools via APIs, including sending requests, processing responses, and integrating functionalities into workflows

Proficient in SQL for creating analytics dashboards, including writing complex queries, optimizing data retrieval, and visualizing insights for decision-making

A strong understanding of how LLMs work and of prompt engineering

Are excited to understand the technicalities of cutting edge AI research and work alongside researchers from instantiation to launch

Enjoy being part of an ambitious and technically-minded team

Have experience working at large scale across a portfolio of projects

Want to get your hands dirty; grit and creative problem solving will be required daily

Have an action-oriented and deeply curious mind

Learn technical concepts exceptionally quickly, seeking out knowledge to become proficient in areas that are new to you

Operate with high horsepower, are adept at frequent context switching and working on multiple projects at once with expansive ownership, and ruthless prioritization

Thrive in dynamic environments and can navigate ambiguity with ease
