We are seeking several Lead Production Technicians to join our team at our Quonset, RI facility to support Dive-XL. You will work on cutting-edge technology aimed at advancing the state-of-the-possible in subsea robotics. You will play a key role in delivering our Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to our customers by working hands-on with our engineering team in a multi-disciplinary environment to scale our AUV production globally.
\nThis will require hands-on work on hardware in a number of areas: composite and metallic structural fabrication and integration, electronic component fabrication & install onto structures, and software loading and full system checkouts. This also includes standing up our production line for Dive-XL in our Quonset facility.
\nAs a Lead Production Technician, you will report to the Manager, Production Operations and work alongside other manufacturing/electrical/test technicians, leading technician staff in the production and delivery of AUVs through testing. You will apply a higher level of knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair. You will ensure all operators are following safety procedures and standard work tasks. You will improve work area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and constant scrutiny.
\nYou will prioritize work activities for operators to achieve target on time delivery goals. You will handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines. You will ensure they are working on the right thing at the right time. You will apply competency in use of hand tools, assembly tooling and general manufacturing equipment. You will utilize reading and comprehension skills to follow documented build instructions.
\nYou will be an active participant in 5S and continuous improvement activities. You will provide feedback on ways to improve building process. You will complete transactions in computer production systems (MES, NetSuite, JIRA, SQL, Tableau) on daily basis. You will assist in weekly report out of production progress, blockers, risks, and needs.
\nYou will be aware of the escalation path for problems that arise on the floor and follow through to completion. You will be able to work on the line, provide training and support new operator training as required. You will build a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes product knowledge, skills development, and X-training.
\nYou will show up every day with a high level of urgency and enthusiasm to get the job done. You will perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting.
\nRequired qualifications include 10+ years experience in production-oriented manufacturing or electro-mechanical technician fields, prior experience leading a team either in-kind or directly, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, a full understanding of the product life cycle (NPI to scaled production), LEAN manufacturing principals, and change management (ECOs).
\nPreferred qualifications include 2+ years of operational leadership experience, leading a production team, experience working with ERP and MES systems, working knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws, experience working with high-voltage electrical components (up to 400VDc), experience performing functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes.
\nThe salary range for this role is $32-$42.31 USD per hour.
