Design Mechanical systems, develop schedules, budget and forecasts, select materials, equipment, project staff and contractors. Estimate costs, resources and time required to complete. Direct site building control related activities, through team members and contractors, to meet site needs (e.g. controls upgrade and replacements, programming optimization, standardization, and operations enhancements). Ensures controls architecture consistency between sites. Analyzes technology trends.</p>\n<p><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create scope documents based on unit/department project requirements. Manage and/or support the bidding, evaluation, and selection process of contractors for the design and construction of Facilities and department led projects. Create project budgets and ensure accuracy in company investment prioritization worksheets. Supervise engineers and on-site contractors. Generate project tracking documentation. Determine and prioritize project tasks and develop project schedule and timelines in order to achieve project&#39;s final goals on time and within budget.</li>\n<li>Support operation of Facilities mechanical systems including but not limited to centrifugal fans, burners, cooling/heating coils, pumps, centrifugal air compressors, centrifugal chillers, heat exchangers. Manage and maintain documentation for the site Mechanical Systems. Communicate critical updates to site system operators.</li>\n<li>Manage FAC BAS/BMS (Building Automation System/Building Management Systems) specification, design, and operation. Create the planning documents for the periodic budgeting and approval events. Direct and collaborate with the site representatives to ensure consistency and optimal system performance. Present updates and core functionality to site leaders. Manage periodic updates and maintenance of system. Manage submission of yearly planning requirement documentation. Create roles and responsibility documents for quick reference and management of change.</li>\n<li>Support FAC Operations with mechanical/electrical equipment design and specification. Apply analytical and trouble shooting skills to minimize mean time to recovery.</li>\n<li>Train FAC Associates on enhancements to operations related to controls and mechanical/electrical systems. Provide support on an as-needed basis. Ensure reference documentation is available and easily accessed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Experience, and Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and/or engineering experience</li>\n<li>3-6 years of experience developing, coordinating and managing mechanical and/or facility related projects</li>\n<li>Intermediate experience with control systems architecture and programming (e.g., EBO/Andover, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>_Other Job-Specific Skills_</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial mechanical systems from concept through final design and implementation as well as troubleshooting and repair. Peripheral knowledge of electrical and structural systems related to a manufacturing facility.</li>\n<li>Effective communication and presentation skills, customer focus (building productive relationships), Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD capabilities.</li>\n<li>Effectively communicate ideas to gain consensus from individuals or teams; demonstrate technical proficiency with expertise on some of the topics within area of expertise; balance multiple projects simultaneously; comprehend technical drawings and specifications; plan and execute special projects and reporting; work well in a collaborative environment.</li>\n<li>Ability to balance the wants/needs of the customer department with facilities equipment service team requirements. The company has expanding facilities around the world, including in Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, Mexico, Japan, and China.</p>\n<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>\n<p>Multimatic&#39;s Mechanisms Engineering team is looking for talented Senior Design Engineers to help create innovative solutions for the world&#39;s leading OEMs. Our team develops everything from Side Door Hinges to advanced motion systems, including Active Aerodynamic devices and PowerDoor actuators.</p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive continuous improvement in design process and product performance</li>\n<li>Generating innovative design concepts to satisfy OEM customer requirements</li>\n<li>Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings with GD&amp;T, and engineering documentation such as DFMEAs, DVP&amp;Rs, tolerance stack-ups, and other engineering calculations</li>\n<li>Lead product development through defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies</li>\n<li>Work in close partnership with program management, process, and quality teams at Multimatic&#39;s manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA/VE activities</li>\n<li>Collaborate with Multimatic&#39;s Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms</li>\n<li>Hands-on assembly of new design concepts to support prototype builds, testing, and validation</li>\n<li>Communicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, provide design solutions, and program updates</li>\n<li>Provide technical mentorship to support knowledge sharing</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#39;s or Master&#39;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline</li>\n<li>8+ years of progressive experience in automotive component design</li>\n<li>Proven leadership of major programs from concept development through production release</li>\n<li>Demonstrated track record of driving and executing key product and technology initiatives</li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D GD&amp;T documentation (CATIA or NX preferred)</li>\n<li>Deep expertise in kinematics, materials selection, and design for high-volume manufacturing and assembly</li>\n<li>Experience defining and validating product requirements, including DVP&amp;R development and execution</li>\n<li>Strong background in product risk assessment methodologies, including DFMEA</li>\n<li>Led structured root cause analysis and implemented corrective actions</li>\n<li>Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail</li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments</li>\n<li>Genuine passion for mechanical design and the automotive industry</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p>\n<p>At Multimatic, you&#39;ll learn from and work alongside some of the industry&#39;s leading experts in a supportive team culture that offers numerous opportunities for professional growth and development.
