<p>In this role, you will translate product and system requirements into manufacturing test coverage, drive the design of test stations and automation, and partner closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to identify, root-cause, and eliminate yield issues and field escapes. This role is especially important in an environment where OpenAI depends on external partners and needs technical operators who can independently verify quality, challenge assumptions, and enforce repeatable, controlled execution.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and deploy manufacturing test solutions in collaboration with OpenAI’s global manufacturing partners.</li>
<li>Define test requirements with NPI, hardware, and systems teams; drive Design for Test (DFT) to ensure testability and manufacturability.</li>
<li>Maintain stable test operations for sustaining products, including deployment of software, firmware, and hardware updates to manufacturing test systems.</li>
<li>Build and maintain automated test scripts to support functional testing, diagnostics, and new feature validation.</li>
<li>Lead initiatives to improve test coverage, reduce test time, and lower manufacturing cost while maintaining product quality.</li>
<li>Identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing yield issues and field escapes; drive root cause and corrective actions to closure.</li>
<li>Design, validate, and deploy test stations, fixtures, and tooling required for scalable production testing.</li>
<li>Partner with NPI, manufacturing and supplier teams to ensure consistent and reliable test execution across sites.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain documentation for test processes, procedures, and system configurations to ensure standardized practices.</li>

      <Description><![CDATA[<p>CoreWeave is building a new Firmware Engineering team focused on developing and maintaining BMC and BIOS firmware for our server infrastructure. As a Firmware Engineering Manager, you will help establish and lead this team, supporting firmware engineers as they build reliable, scalable, and production-ready firmware for our data center platforms.</p>
<p>Reporting to a senior engineering manager, you will combine people leadership with technical guidance, helping shape team processes, execution, and culture while partnering closely with hardware, platform, and operations teams.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead &amp; support the team – manage, mentor, and coach a small team of firmware engineers through regular 1-on-1s, goal-setting, and feedback, fostering a collaborative and psychologically safe environment.</li>

<li>Execution &amp; delivery – help plan and track firmware development work, ensuring timely delivery of features, bug fixes, and platform enablement across multiple hardware programs.</li>

<li>Grow the team – partner with recruiting and senior leadership to interview and onboard new firmware engineers as the team scales.</li>

<li>Communicate &amp; align – provide clear status updates, surface risks early, and communicate trade-offs and progress to stakeholders and leadership.</li>
</ul>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>2+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (engineering manager, tech lead with people management responsibilities, or similar).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Prior hands-on experience as a firmware or embedded systems engineer.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Working knowledge of embedded firmware development using C/C++ in Linux-based environments.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Familiarity with BMC firmware stacks such as OpenBMC and/or AMI MegaRAC/SPX.</li>
</ul>

<li>Understanding of hardware interfaces and system-level concepts (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, board bring-up).</li>
