      <Description><![CDATA[<p>Join Biffa as a Contract Manager, owning complex contracts and delivering smarter, safer waste solutions. The role can be done from home, but you will be covering Surrey, Sussex &amp; Kent. Reporting to the Regional General Manager/Business Manager, this role is on a fixed term 12-month contract.</p>
<p>The Contract Manager is responsible for developing and growing waste disposal and resource management services across customer sites, while delivering first-class customer service and account management. You will ensure the right infrastructure is in place to respond quickly to client needs, driving continuous improvement across the contract to deliver strong performance against EBIT targets, recycling objectives, compliance and health &amp; safety standards.</p>
<p>Based within our Specialist Services Division, the role delivers tailored solutions for complex and unknown waste streams, including hazardous waste removal, bulk liquid disposal, industrial cleaning, compactors, balers and Integrated Resource Management (IRM).</p>
<p><strong>Your core responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Act as the primary point of contact for all client stakeholders, ensuring contract compliance, service delivery, safety culture, retention and commercial performance.</li>
<li>Drive account growth through improved commercial performance, upselling services and equipment, new waste streams and pricing negotiations.</li>
<li>Produce monthly reports and management information, including bespoke multi-site client reporting and portal data management.</li>
<li>Deliver site-based waste minimisation programmes aligned to strategic targets, improving cost efficiency, environmental performance and waste handling practices.</li>
<li>Manage monthly profit and loss across a designated contract portfolio.</li>
<li>Apply strong sector knowledge across health and safety, Duty of Care, resource and hazardous waste management to identify added-value opportunities.</li>
<li>Lead and promote a strong safety culture on client sites, providing guidance and coaching to operatives, agency staff and client teams.</li>
<li>Support colleagues and client sites as part of a wider team, contributing expertise to large-scale projects, emergency response and specialist services.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of waste management, with previous account management experience and a strong operational focus.</li>
<li>Understanding of lean methodology, with the ability to work to clearly defined KPIs.</li>
<li>Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational or service environment.</li>
<li>Full, current UK car driving licence.</li>

<li>Provide thought leadership for the development, structure, technology, and tools used within FCSD</li>
<li>Innovate and operate with an iterative, agile, and user-centric perspective</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Communicate Technology Strategy</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Clearly communicate technology strategy and vision to team members and internal and external stakeholders</li>
<li>Demonstrate software engineering excellence through actively coding, pairing, and performing code and architecture reviews with the software engineers within the FCSD Tech product line</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related</li>
<li>5+ years experience with progressive leadership responsibilities in Software Engineering, Architecture, and Agile Framework</li>
<li>Experience with Lean methodology &amp; eXtreme Programming</li>
<li>Must be able to operationalize and assist teams with abstract technology concepts</li>
<li>Strong communication, collaborative, and influencing skills</li>
<li>Proven ability to work closely with senior leadership</li>
<li>Strong personal presence and capabilities to resolve technical concerns</li>
