<p>As a Technical Lead, Engine Systems, you will report to Principal Technical Director and own the evolution of performance-critical engine systems for Apex Legends. You will lead development across CPU performance, memory, load times, and platform systems while guiding a team of senior engineers. You will define technical direction, simplify complex systems, and deliver stable, scalable solutions that improve player experience and support live service operations.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and support senior engineers building core engine systems</li>
<li>Define technical roadmap for performance, memory, and platform systems</li>
<li>Plan large system changes while maintaining live service stability</li>
<li>Optimise CPU, memory, streaming, and load time performance</li>
<li>Architect and implement engine systems using C++</li>
<li>Partner with design, audio, and animation teams on scalable solutions</li>
<li>Collaborate with EA Central Tech and platform partners on integrations</li>
</ul>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>10+ years in game development with engine systems experience</li>
<li>3+ years leading engineers on complex technical initiatives</li>
<li>Expertise in C/C++ and performance optimisation techniques</li>
<li>Experience working across large, mature codebases</li>
<li>Shipped at least one AAA title on console or PC</li>
<li>Experience developing for Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo platforms</li>
<li>Skilled in debugging, profiling, and optimising live systems</li>

      <Description><![CDATA[<p>We&#39;re growing our team of engineers and are looking for a technical leader to help shape our build and CI infrastructure. As a member of the Build Systems team, you&#39;ll drive technical roadmap and strategy, partner with cross-functional teams, and lead complex initiatives reducing build/test times and improving CI reliability.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>

<li>Driving technical roadmap and strategy for the Build Systems team</li>
<li>Partnering with cross-functional teams and leadership to identify developer pain points and design elegant, scalable solutions</li>
<li>Leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives reducing build/test times and improving CI reliability</li>

<li>Architecting and implementing large-scale infrastructure on AWS that powers our entire build pipeline to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency</li>
<li>Mentoring and upleveling the team through technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural leadership</li>

<p>We&#39;re looking for someone with 8+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years on Infrastructure, Platform, or Developer Experience teams. You should have deep expertise in build systems (e.g., Bazel, Buck, Pants, Gradle) and operating large-scale monorepos. Experience optimizing CI/CD, building developer tooling at scale, and designing reliable, high-performance distributed systems is also required.</p>
<p>Preferred skills include experience migrating large codebases to modern build systems (especially Bazel), building test frameworks and improving test infrastructure, and having excellent problem-solving skills.</p>
