<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Developing and maintaining quality engineering methods to meet customer, internal, and regulatory requirements</li>
<li>Evaluating existing quality systems and manufacturing processes and implementing projects to improve productivity and efficiency</li>
<li>Providing QA project support for site New Product Development engineering introductions</li>
<li>Creating quality plans and conducting FMEA</li>
<li>Using Six Sigma, A3, and 7 QC tools and/or methods to facilitate investigations of failures identified by customer complaints, internal non-conformances, and manufacturing yield issues in batch production</li>
<li>Leading and/or supporting Corrective and Preventative Actions, including identifying and eliminating root causes using A3, PDCA, and/or 8D methodologies and ensuring closure of action items in a 24-7 manufacturing environment</li>
<li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with quality objectives</li>
<li>Creating data models and reports in Visual Basic, Excel Power Query, and/or PowerBI to analyze continuous manufacturing datasets, automate monitoring and reporting on quality metrics, and enable identification of trends and areas for improvement</li>
<li>Identifying and mitigating quality risks during product development and manufacturing in accordance with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 standards</li>
<li>Implementing risk management processes to assess, control, and monitor quality risks during the product lifecycle</li>
</ul>
<p>Additional requirements include up to 10% U.S. and/or international travel and a salary range of $128,000.00 to $145,000.00.</p>

      <Description><![CDATA[<p>We are looking for a highly motivated Senior EH&amp;S Specialist to join our team!</p>
<p>As a Senior EH&amp;S Specialist, you will be given the opportunity to implement industry best practices and serve as the subject matter expert on EH&amp;S matters.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop, implement and maintain environmental, health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with all relevant regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Where applicable, develop and implement EH&amp;S training strategies and conduct trainings</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Assist with management of product and process-related chemical elements</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Facilitate a Safety Committee and participate in customer feedback sessions as they relate to the installation, maintenance, and safe operations of our products, including considerations for chemical and wastewater disposal</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Assess potential workplace hazards and risks, including general employee safety, and work with Safety Committee to develop strategies and implement safety measures to mitigate them</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Own EH&amp;S related documentation such as hazardous waste manifest and profiles, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), handling procedures, storage and recycling, and disposal of biohazardous, and hazardous wastes</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Ensure manifesting, packaging, labeling, and loading of all medical, biohazardous, and hazardous waste is accurate and adheres to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Assist in the development and implementation of all company operations concerning the fire, emergency, safety, and environmental programs</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Own and maintain the inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with appropriate regulations, policies, practices, and procedures including applicable reports</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Maintain accurate data for Chemical Inventory in the buildings and the maintenance of MSDS online library</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Oversee the storage of hazardous waste and materials in accordance with appropriate regulations, policies, practices, and procedures</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Provide training on EH&amp;S programs, including but not limited to Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts), Hazardous Waste Disposal, product wastewater monitoring, new hire orientation and employee safety training</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Ensure company compliance and appropriate reporting of hazardous materials inventory to outside agencies</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Oversee and coordinate company or consultant crew’s activities during an incident response and clean-up</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the liaison between company and relevant government agencies</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Promote a safe working environment for employees, monitor for safe working practices and manage Illness and Injury Prevention Plan and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Manage incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and ensure conformance</li>
</ul>

</ul>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>Biosciences degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant EH&amp;S experience or EH&amp;S Certification and minimum of 8-10 years of relevant progressive experience</li>

<li>First Aid, CPR, AED certified</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA and EPA regulations</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 preferred</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>RCRA / DOT Hazardous Waste certified preferred</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>40-hr HAZWOPER preferred</li>

<p>At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $105,000 and $120,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.</p>
