Cross-functional Collaboration:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Nuclear Safeguards or related technical discipline; 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with DOE, NRC, or IAEA nuclear material safeguards programs.
• Proven ability to manage nuclear material inventory systems and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with safeguards technologies such as non-destructive assay (NDA) and tamper-indicating devices.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with ability to work proactively and independently.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Operator to join our team. As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for operating drilling, riveting, staking, tapping, welding, and other production machinery. You will also be responsible for checking fixtures and measuring and gauging equipment to test and determine compliance to customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the counting and labelling of finished components and the recording of all appropriate production information.

• Ensure that accurate information is entered into the inventory system.

• Record trends on appropriate forms (i.e. lot control forms, production reports).

• Check assemblies to fixtures, gauges, tools or visual inspection aids as outlined in the CP (i.e. inspection instructions, operator instructions).

• Identify any concerns relative to productivity, quality, or safety.

• Perform maintenance tasks including tip changes, tool changes, and set-up of equipment.

• Perform finished goods inspections as per the control plan and operator instructions as required.

• In the event of nonconformance, halt the operation and inform the leadhand or supervisor.

• Ensure that non-conform material is identified with a reject tag or placed in the reject container.

• Ensure that the work area and machinery is clean and safe at all times.

• Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not essential.

• Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal.

• Previous experience working in a team environment.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is an asset.

• Detail oriented.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

TRAINING/DISQUALIFICATION

• Associates, who receive a job transfer/promotion will be trained and evaluated in their new position. The actual length of training is dependent upon the position/job assigned and the individuals’ ability to learn and perform the required duties.
• During the training period, the associates’ performance typically will be evaluated and a performance evaluation completed at 30, 60 and 90-day intervals. Criterion utilized for the performance evaluation process may include but is not limited to: compliance with safety and quality standards/procedures, job knowledge, dependability/adaptability, resourcefulness, team work, productivity, and housekeeping 6S.
• If an individual needs further training or improvement at the conclusion of the 90-day evaluation period the training/job evaluation period may be extended an additional 30 days. Promoted/transferred individuals are expected to maintain a satisfactory level of performance in all areas of evaluation. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the classification/position.
• If, during the 90-day training period, an associate is unable to perform to level expected by the Company or resigns from a position, the associate may not be eligible for reapplying for the same position without demonstrating an improvement of their skill and ability from consideration for that position for one (1) year, and will return to their previously held position; seniority and availability permitting. If they do not have the seniority to hold their previous position, they will be assigned to another available position as needed, provided they can successfully perform the work. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to safely and effectively operate machinery; and material handling equipment within orientation period. The ability to pass post examinations for position required training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• The ability to read and comprehend written work instructions. The ability to write effective correspondence. The ability to write and interpret work instructions and work procedures. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, suppliers and other associates within the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
