Product Engineer — Search

You'll own the developer-facing search experience at Firecrawl , taking the retrieval and ranking improvements coming out of research and shipping them as a product developers can't stop using.

This isn't a pure research role and it isn't a pure backend role. You sit at the intersection: you understand how the systems work deeply enough to improve them, and you care about how they feel to use obsessively enough to make them great. At a 26-person company, the gap between research and shipped product is exactly one person. You're that person.

Salary Range: $180,000–$290,000/year (Range shown is for U.S.-based employees. Compensation outside the U.S. is adjusted fairly based on your country's cost of living.)

Equity Range: Up to 0.15%

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience: 3+ years in applied RL, ML engineering, or model training , with production systems

Visa: US Citizenship/Visa required for SF; N/A for Remote

You'll be responsible for how Firecrawl's search endpoint feels to integrate, use, and build on. That means response format, latency, error handling, pagination, filtering , every surface a developer touches. You're the person who notices when something is confusing before a user files a GitHub issue about it.

You'll dogfood relentlessly. You build things with the API before you ship them. You feel the friction before your users do. You read every GitHub issue, every Discord thread, every support ticket that touches search , not because someone asked you to, but because that's where the product signal lives.

You'll translate research into product decisions. You work closely with the Search/IR and RL Research Engineers. You understand their work well enough to make good product calls about what to prioritize, what to expose to users, and what to keep under the hood. You ask good questions. You push back when something technically elegant would make the API worse.

You'll run fast product experiments. You form a hypothesis about what would make search better for developers, instrument it, ship it, measure it, and decide quickly. You're comfortable making calls with imperfect data because waiting for perfect data means shipping nothing.

You'll raise the bar on developer experience. Firecrawl's users are technical. They have high standards. They notice when response formats are inconsistent, when error messages are unhelpful, when documentation doesn't match behavior. You notice too , and you fix it before they have to ask.

What We're Looking For:

Obsessive about developer experience. You think about DX the way a designer thinks about pixels. Latency, response structure, error messages, API ergonomics , these things matter to you on a visceral level. You've built APIs that developers loved and you know the difference between an API that works and one that delights.

Speaks both product and engineering fluently. You can read a ranking algorithm and understand its implications for the search experience. You can write the API spec and implement it yourself. You don't need a PM to tell you what matters or an ML engineer to explain why a retrieval change is significant. You connect those dots on your own.

Hands-on builder who ships. You write code. You own features from design to deployment. You're comfortable with ambiguity and you don't need a perfectly scoped ticket to make progress. You ship something, learn from it, and iterate.

Has a feel for search as a product. You've thought seriously about what makes search good , not just fast or accurate, but genuinely useful. You understand the difference between recall and precision and why developers care about both. You have intuitions about query understanding, result ranking, and when semantic search beats keyword search , and you've built products that put those intuitions to work.

Brings production instincts. You've operated systems under real load. You know what breaks first, how to instrument what matters, and how to make good latency/quality tradeoffs. You're not just building features , you're building infrastructure developers depend on.

What We're NOT Looking For:

Great engineers who don't care about DX. If you build technically excellent systems but think API ergonomics and documentation are someone else's problem, this isn't the role. The product experience is part of the job , not an afterthought.

People who need a PM. There's no product manager between you and the work. You define what good looks like, you decide what to prioritize, and you own the outcome. If that's uncomfortable, you'll struggle here.

Specialists who only work on one layer. If you're only interested in backend systems and tune out when the conversation shifts to how something is exposed to developers , or vice versa , this won't be a fit. This role requires you to hold both.

Slow shippers. The research team will produce improvements faster than a slow product cycle can absorb them. We need someone who can take something from 'this ranking model is better' to 'this is live in the API with docs and an example' in days, not sprints.

People who don't use the product. If you're not the kind of engineer who builds side projects with APIs like ours, reads the docs critically, and notices when something feels off , you'll miss the signal that makes this role work.

A Note On Pace:

We operate at an absurd level of urgency because the window for what we're building won't stay open forever. If that excites you, keep reading. If it doesn't, no hard feelings , but this role probably isn't for you.

Benefits & Perks:

Salary that makes sense , $180,000–$290,000/year, based on impact, not tenure

Own a piece , Up to 0.15% equity in what you're helping build

Generous PTO , 15 days mandatory, anything after 24 days, just ask (holidays excluded); take the time you need to recharge

Parental leave , 12 weeks fully paid, for moms and dads

Wellness stipend , $100/month for the gym, therapy, massages, or whatever keeps you human

Leave

Commercial Counsel, Compute & Infrastructure

As a Commercial Counsel for Compute and Infrastructure at Anthropic, you'll lead legal execution for Anthropic's infrastructure transactions. These could span the spectrum of server rack compute, networking, semiconductor procurement and development, robotics, manufacturing and supply chain operations, direct datacenter leases, construction agreements, energy procurement, data center operations and the financing structures that enable infrastructure investments at massive scale. You'll work in close partnership with Anthropic teammates in Frontier Legal, Security, Litigation and Public Policy in addition to specialized outside counsel, serving as the in-house coordinator who ensures external work product aligns with Anthropic's commercial objectives and integrates with our overall compute strategy. Negotiate strategic agreements with key technology partners, major developers, and represent some of Anthropic’s largest and lengthiest capital commitments. Support, structure, and negotiate hardware development and procurement agreement, capacity reservation agreements, power purchase agreements, negotiate utility interconnection agreements, and manage utility-related legal requirements or initiatives (e.g., renewables). Coordinate construction and adjacent agreements including design-build contracts, equipment procurement, and commissioning schedules; manage the related legal workstreams. Work closely with specialized outside counsel, ensuring their work product aligns with Anthropic’s commercial objectives. Collaborate with the Compute team’s transaction managers who handle operational execution and project management, providing legal and risk management expertise. Coordinate with finance and corporate development on strategic deal structuring. Understand how datacenter legal structures interact with the compute capacity they will house; e.g., power requirements, cooling specifications, security standards, and expansion rights that flow from decisions made in the Compute organization. Escalate novel structures or terms that create downstream risk for operational flexibility; ensure facility designs accommodate AI-specific requirements including high density power, liquid cooling infrastructure, and rapid scaling capacity. You may be a good fit if you have: JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar At least 8-12+ years of relevant legal experience with meaningful exposure to cloud-hardware development and procurement, semiconductor procurement or development, networking, supply chain/logistics, datacenter construction, real-estate, colos or data center operations. Fluency in commercial real estate and construction contracting; datacenter lease structures, construction risk allocation, and financing arrangements (and how they will interact) Experience with EPC, AIA, and design-build arrangements at scale Comfort with project finance structures and the interplay between lease, financing, and development agreements Ability to coordinate effectively with specialized outside counsel while maintaining strategic direction Strong judgement about when deal terms create downstream risk for operational flexibility Effective collaboration skills for working with business teams who handle transaction management and site selection Genuine interest in infrastructure development and appreciation for why compute and datacenter capacity is mission-critical for frontier AI Strong candidates may also have: In-house experience at cloud service providers, neo-clouds, datacenter developers supporting leasing, project development, and financing transactions Experience at large technology companies with datacenter construction programs supporting development transactions from the buy side Law firm experience at practices with infrastructure finance or project development specialization, particularly those who have worked on datacenter, power, or similar infrastructure financings Prior involvement in transactions requiring sophisticated understanding of custom hardware development, global supply chain and logistics, construction timelines, commissioning requirements, and operational handoff Familiarity with tax structures, sale lease-back arrangements, or other financing vehicles used in large-scale infrastructure development Role-specific policy: For this role, we expect all staff to be able to work from our San Francisco, Seattle or New York office at least 3 days a week, though we encourage you to apply even if you might need some flexibility for an interim period of time. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000-$385,000 USD Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren’t able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you’re interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we’re building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you’re ever unsure about a communication, don’t click any links, visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we’re different: We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact , advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI , rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science.

We're looking for a technical Product Manager with a computer science background and hands-on software engineering experience. You will act as the connective tissue across engineering, design, and external partners; owning the problem space, driving clarity, and pushing execution from 0→1 and beyond.

Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end product development for core LayerZero infrastructure and API surfaces - vision, roadmap, requirements, and execution.

Partner closely with engineers; understand technical constraints, read code-level designs, and actively participate in architectural discussions.

Drive alignment across teams by overcommunicating vision, use cases, and decisions - tailoring communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Maintain relentless clarity on user needs by continually engaging with developers, partners, and integrators; synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights.

Break down ambiguous problems, validate assumptions, and prevent premature solutioning; ensure the team is solving the right problems.

Advocate for design quality and usability, even for deeply technical workflows; sweat the details.

Influence cross-functional stakeholders through trust, execution, and strong product judgment, not authority.

Unblock engineering, drive momentum, and take ownership for outcomes end-to-end.

About You:

You have a computer science degree or equivalent technical background.

You have 2–5+ years of software engineering experience and can comfortably lead technical discussions.

You have 3–6+ years of product management experience, ideally owning API, developer, or infrastructure products.

You think like an owner; you drive work forward even without authority or perfect information.

You communicate clearly, proactively, and repeatedly to ensure alignment. You are able to effectively tailor your communication to different types of stakeholders.

You are comfortable in fast-moving, low-process environments and thrive in ambiguity.

You care deeply about quality, user experience, and execution.

Ideally, you have experience in Web3, distributed systems, or developer-focused platforms, but it’s not required.

Research Scientist, Frontier Red Team (Emerging Risks)

About Anthropic

Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole.

About the Team

The Frontier Red Team (FRT) is a technical research team within Anthropic's Policy organization. Our goal is to make the entire world safer in this era of advanced AI by understanding what these systems can do and building the defenses that matter.

In 2026, we're focused on researching and ensuring safety with self-improving, highly autonomous AI systems—especially ones with cyber-physical capabilities. See our previous related work on cyberdefense, robotics, and Project Vend. This is early-stage, high-conviction research with the potential for outsized impact.

About the Role

This Research Scientist will focus on scoping, evaluating, red teaming, and defending against societal risks caused by advanced models that emerge over the next few years. Powerful AI models may have major implications for national security, running a business, power and privacy, infrastructure, social relationships, and more. They may come as a result of the increasing integration of powerful models in our economy and social sphere.

As an independent Research Scientist, you’ll build a research program to understand these Emerging Risks. You’ll build evals, run experiments, and look for real world signals to understand how these may come about. You’ll turn this into insights we can use to steer the development and use of the technology more positively. Compared to the team's other focuses, you will focus less on acute catastrophic risks and more on risks that emerge from increasing integration into our world.

What You’ll Do:

Design and run research experiments to understand the emerging risks models may create

Produce internal & external artifacts (research, products, demos, dashboards, tools) that communicate the state of model capabilities

Shape product, safeguards, and training decisions based on what you find

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
