      <Description><![CDATA[<p>Saronic Technologies seeks a commercially experienced maritime MRO professional to join our Ship Maintenance team. Reporting to the Director of Ship Maintenance, this Senior Manager brings both commercial shipyard and ABS classification experience to the team.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will own classification society compliance, maintenance execution, and commercial vendor relationships for Saronic&#39;s growing fleet of autonomous surface vehicles (+150 ft), initially supporting 2 to 5 hulls.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Classification &amp; Survey Management<ul>
<li>Own all ABS interactions: annual, intermediate, special, and drydock surveys; condition assessments; and class certificate maintenance</li>
<li>Manage drydocking operations end-to-end , facility selection, docking plans, hull inspections, survey coordination, and undocking sign-off</li>
<li>Develop external relationships to steer industry regulatory parties such as USCG</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Commercial Shipyard &amp; Vendor Relations<ul>
<li>Build and manage Saronic&#39;s commercial repair yard and ship husbandry vendor network across key domestic and forward operating regions</li>
<li>Negotiate and administer commercial repair contracts and MSAs with private-sector shipyards and specialty subcontractors</li>
<li>Serve as primary technical point of contact with repair facilities; attend dock and sea trials on behalf of Saronic</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Technical Oversight<ul>
<li>Develop repair specifications, work packages, and acceptance criteria grounded in ABS Rules and commercial practice</li>
<li>Conduct vessel condition surveys and pre-docking assessments; provide findings and recommendations to steer our MRO organisational processes</li>
<li>Establish a commercial-standard Planned Maintenance System (PMS) suited to Saronic&#39;s ASV fleet</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Team &amp; Program Support<ul>
<li>Partner with internally to integrate MRO execution with Saronic&#39;s customer-facing teams to drive strategy, budget planning, and fleet readiness reporting</li>
<li>Mentor staff on commercial survey processes, ABS documentation, and yard QA</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of hands-on commercial maritime MRO experience - technical superintendent, owner&#39;s representative, or equivalent - with direct ABS survey and drydocking responsibility (not solely Oil &amp; Gas specific or Navy/government program management)</li>
<li>Working knowledge of ABS rules and survey process (annual, intermediate, special, drydock); ability to prepare vessels for class</li>
<li>Hands-on technical competence: hull structure, propulsion, electrical, auxiliary machinery, HVAC</li>
<li>Commercial repair contract and MSA negotiation - private-sector, not FAR/DFARS</li>
<li>Willingness to travel regularly to shipyards and work in industrial/outdoor environments</li>
</ul>
<p>Preferred:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#39;s in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience</li>
<li>STCW Chief Engineer Officer certification or seagoing engineering officer background</li>
<li>Experience with additional classification societies beyond ABS</li>
<li>Familiarity with commercial CMMS platforms (AMOS, HELM, ShipManager, Maximo, or equivalent)</li>
<li>Exposure to autonomous or unmanned surface vehicles, or high-performance commercial craft</li>
</ul>
<p>Physical Demands:</p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to certify as &#39;fit for work&#39; by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water</li>
<li>Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 75 lbs.</li>
<li>Will be exposed to marine environments, including sun, wind, rain, cold, and saltwater spray, often for extended periods</li>
<li>Must be able to operate in daylight, low-light, and night conditions using marine navigation systems and visual cues</li>

<p>Responsibilities:
Conduct one or more of the following tasks with a high level of proficiency:
Hull form development and optimization.
Resistance, power and speed predictions.
Functional design and general arrangement development.

Collaborate with other engineers to support CAD modeling, weight management, and the integration of autonomous navigation and control systems into vessel designs.
Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions for new and existing vessel concepts.
Support documentation, technical writing, and preparation of reports for internal use and client presentations.
Research and stay updated on new developments in naval architecture, autonomous technology, and commercial shipping trends and innovation.</p>
<p>Qualifications:
Must be a “U.S. Person”: U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, and certain protected classes of asylees and refugees, as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.

Clear communicator with both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
Strong fundamentals in core naval architecture principles and proficiency with industry-standard tools, including one or more of the following:
