As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the integration of 10-speed RWD transmission systems into vehicle spaces. You will take ownership of the design and development of the transmission system, ensuring it meets the required specifications and quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and vehicle assembly plants, to ensure seamless integration and efficient production. This role requires a strong understanding of product development principles, design thinking, and user experience methods. You will also be responsible for managing product release CAD and BOM structures, including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis. Additionally, you will facilitate supplier data integration and develop CAD studies to support and drive design improvements.</p>\n<p>Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as a PD engineer responsible for 10-speed RWD and their integration into vehicle spaces.</li>\n<li>Take ownership of the DV and PV strategies to deliver a best-in-class powertrain system.</li>\n<li>Work as a team to improve part quality and increase the customer experience.</li>\n<li>Own and deliver transmission system level assessments and evidence for key GPDS milestones.</li>\n<li>Lead Key life test and other dyno testing requirements and execution of system signoff requirements</li>\n<li>Must be in Livonia Michigan 4 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs.</li>\n<li>Work with Ford Powertrain Manufacturing and Ford Vehicle Assembly Plants on manufacturing related improvement actions.</li>\n<li>Short term travel may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in engineering or similar degree.</li>\n<li>1 year of automotive transmission or powertrain experience.</li>\n<li>1 year of CAD experience.</li>\n<li>Even better, you may have:</li>\n<li>Master&#39;s degree in engineering or similar degree.</li>\n<li>Vehicle repair or vehicle diagnostics background.</li>\n<li>Cal tools experience preferred, ATI, INCA, ETAS, etc.</li>\n<li>CAE/FEA, fluid CFD and another Analytical tools preferred.</li>\n<li>Electrical component or electrical system experience preferred.</li>\n<li>Ford design/release experience preferred.</li>\n<li>Hands-on problem solver and strong root cause skills.</li>\n<li>Independent, self-starter when required.</li>\n<li>Good communicator and can foster relationships with suppliers.</li>\n<li>A &#39;be curious&#39; and &#39;continuous improvement&#39; mindset.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Salary: This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300. This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500. This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
