<p>The right person for this role has a strong command of mechanical design and stress and thermal analysis principles as well as a solid handle on the usage of tools common in industry. If you are someone who is hardware-focused and detail-oriented then this role is for you.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Perform CAD design activities of mechanical components.</li>
<li>Perform finite element analysis of structural and thermal systems.</li>
<li>Generate, review, and release product definition (i.e. engineering drawings).</li>
<li>Create reports and presentations documenting analysis and other supporting work.</li>
<li>Present to peers and customers in design reviews.</li>
<li>Support prototyping, manufacturing, and test operations onsite at our manufacturing facilities and suppliers’ facilities.</li>
<li>Own the development of critical subsystems from cradle to grave.</li>
</ul>
<p>Required Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>2+ years’ experience performing mechanical design and analysis.</li>
<li>A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar.</li>
<li>Prior experience operating CAD software and/or FEA software.</li>
<li>A solid understanding of hardware manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to travel to other Anduril sites, customer sites, or supplier sites as business demand dictates. Anticipated 10-25% travel.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance.</li>
</ul>
<p>Preferred Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>Exhibits strong initiative and ownership of tasks.</li>
<li>Experience with NX CAD software and/or Abaqus FEA software.</li>
<li>Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.</li>
<li>Expertise in engineering tool development in Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, and/or Python.</li>
<li>Experience with propulsion systems.</li>
</ul>

      <Description><![CDATA[<p>We are seeking a Composite Design Engineer to lead the structural design, analysis, and integration of composite materials into our maritime platforms. You will be responsible for developing lightweight, high-performance composite structures optimized for maritime environments and aligned with mission-critical DoD performance and survivability requirements.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<p>Design, analyze, and optimize composite structures for autonomous maritime platforms (hulls, decks, enclosures, etc.)
Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using tools like SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and Fibersim
Perform hand calculations to design and size laminates using CLT tools
Work closely with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and autonomy teams to integrate composite structures with vessel systems
Define material specifications and work with suppliers to source appropriate composite materials to include NCFs, resin systems, adhesives, and core materials
Develop manufacturing plans and collaborate with in-house and external fabricators to support prototype and production builds

Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles
Support testing, validation, and qualification of composite assemblies in lab and marine environments</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>Bachelor’s degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
2+ years of experience in composite structural design (aerospace, marine, automotive, or defense)
Strong understanding of composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resin infusion, etc.) and layup techniques
Experience with CAD and FEA software (e.g., Femap (Preferred), ANSYS, Abaqus)
Knowledge of mechanical testing, structural validation, and failure analysis of composite systems</p>
