Our search engine is entirely invented in-house utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, and we use its core and personalization capabilities to power everything from search itself to recommendations to shopping agents.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Team</strong></p>\n<p>The Recommendation Cross-Channel &amp; Offsite Discovery team is building a platform that empowers marketers to unlock the full potential of multichannel ecommerce discovery. Our service leverages real-time shopper behaviour from website activity to power personalized offsite experiences across multiple channels - including Emails, Push notifications, ads, and more.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and scaling the Offsite Discovery team to build a performant, scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient platform that delivers personalized results beyond the storefront. Specific responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partner with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to set quarterly goals tied to measurable service and business impact</li>\n<li>Guide engineers’ growth by helping them develop new skills, expand ownership, and overcome challenges</li>\n<li>Lead the recruiting and hiring processes for your team</li>\n<li>Define and execute the team’s engineering strategy</li>\n<li>Establish metrics, dashboards, and alerting that make operational health and delivery success transparent</li>\n<li>Continuously improve the team’s operational excellence through the team’s tech stack, processes, and tools</li>\n<li>Drive measurable improvements in the product capabilities, costs, and performance</li>\n<li>Collaborate with neighboring engineering and non-engineering teams, define and maintain clear interfaces and ownership boundaries</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of software development experience, at least 2 years directly leading engineering teams</li>\n<li>Proven record of designing and operating high-load real-time systems in production environments</li>\n<li>Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred). Familiarity with JavaScript is a plus</li>\n<li>Solid understanding of system architecture and API design principles</li>\n<li>Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers in fast-growing teams</li>\n<li>Skilled at setting technical direction and translating product goals into clear engineering milestones</li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</li>\n<li>Able to attend regular meetings between 11 am – 5 pm UTC</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlimited vacation time - we strongly encourage all of our employees take at least 3 weeks per year</li>\n<li>Fully remote team - choose where you live</li>\n<li>Work from home stipend!
