<p><strong>About the Team</strong></p>
<p>The Product Policy team is responsible for the development, implementation, enforcement, and communication of the policies that govern use of OpenAI’s services, including ChatGPT, GPTs, the GPT store, Sora, and the OpenAI API. As a member of this team, you will be instrumental in developing and operationalizing policy approaches to best enable both innovative and responsible use of AI so that our groundbreaking technologies are truly used to benefit all people.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>We are looking for a program manager to strengthen the operational backbone of the Product Policy team. This role focuses on making our core processes run smoothly and reliably—how we update policies, track progress, coordinate with ops, and manage the mechanics that enable the team to move quickly and responsibly. This person will own critical operational workflows and support priority initiatives.</p>
<p>This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.</p>
<p><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own and improve Product Policy’s core operational processes (e.g., policy updates, cross-functional handoffs, tracking and reporting).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain systems to measure progress, surface risks, and ensure accountability across workstreams.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate day-to-day execution with operations, integrity, safety, and legal partners.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Support priority initiatives by organizing workplans, driving follow-ups, and keeping execution on track.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Develop lightweight tools, templates, and documentation that make the team more efficient and predictable.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Translate policy requirements into clear operational steps for partner teams.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience running operational programs or processes in cross-functional environments.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with an instinct for improving systems.</li>
</ul>

<li>Comfort working with policy, technical, and operational stakeholders.</li>
</ul>

<li>Ability to execute independently while escalating issues appropriately.</li>

<li>Background in policy / trust and safety.</li>
</ul>
