      <Description><![CDATA[<p>At Bp, we are seeking an Applied Chemistry Manager to join our Fuels &amp; Low Carbon Technology (F&amp;LCT) team. As a key member of the Bioenergy &amp; Hydrogen Technology (B&amp;HT) team, you will be responsible for shaping and managing the applied chemistry team.</p>
<p>Your primary objectives will be to deliver safe and compliant experimental operations, manage the portfolio in advanced chemistry, and lead the development of research programmes for molecules of interest to Bp. You will also be responsible for developing, managing, and delivering the Team&#39;s annual programme according to resources and priorities.</p>
<p>As an Applied Chemistry Manager, you will work closely with business technology colleagues to appraise new process/product options, identify fundamental needs in chemistry and catalysis, and deliver/transfer results and insights to meet these needs. You will also manage, as required, of relevant Academic Collaborations and other third-party relationships.</p>
<p>To be successful in this role, you will need to have a PhD in Chemistry with a strong grasp of underlying fundamentals of catalysis chemistry, organic chemistry, and electrochemistry. You will also need to have prior demonstrated experience in early scaling of new catalysts and/or molecules, as well as a record of strong scientific and team leadership along with effective communication skills and a proven track record of decision-making and appropriate risk-taking.</p>
<p>In addition, you will need to have a firm grasp on risk analysis and safety principles, strong networking and influencing skills, and the ability to manage delivery of multiple projects across multiple interfaces.</p>
<p>Travel will be required up to 25% of the time.</p>
