We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Imaging team, which develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will be responsible for defining active EO/IR system architectures, performing radiometric performance modeling, and laboratory, ground, and flight testing. They will also model atmospheric and environmental effects for land, sea, and air targets, and leverage their analyses to inform system-level architectural trades.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Defining system architectures via detailed trade studies and analyses</li>
<li>Adapting or deriving physics-based models of sensor system performance and deriving requirements based on those models</li>
<li>Taking ownership over the development of prototype sensor systems in a lab environment</li>
<li>Supporting both laboratory-based and field-based experiments and demonstrations</li>
<li>Engaging technically with the hardware, software, and mission teams to define, integrate, and deliver high-performance systems to our customers</li>
<li>Validating models against laboratory and real-world data</li>
<li>Coordinating and communicating with both external &amp; internal stakeholders with varying degrees of technical background</li>
</ul>
<p>Required qualifications include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Model development and validation in one or more domains relevant to remote sensing</li>
<li>Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each</li>
<li>Experience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer</li>
<li>Strong laboratory skills (rapid prototyping, design of experiments) and familiarity with opto-electrical test and measurement equipment</li>
<li>Willingness to travel to test sites, as needed</li>
<li>Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance</li>
</ul>
<p>Preferred qualifications include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of current and next-generation advanced sensing systems and platforms</li>
<li>Active and passive sensing domain experience (e.g., LiDAR, EO/IR, Radar)</li>
<li>Experience with laser systems, including opto-mechanical scanning and beam steering techniques</li>
<li>Knowledge of electro-mechanical control systems, including their performance requirements and verification methodologies</li>
<li>Experience with LiDAR/Radar signal processing techniques, and knowledge of their implementation on real-time embedded platforms (FPGA, MCU, etc.)</li>
<li>Experience with signature and/or scenario modeling/software packages (MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM)</li>
</ul>

<p>As a Hardware Test &amp; Compliance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring Fuse’s hardware products and energy systems meet applicable regulatory, safety and performance requirements throughout their lifecycle. You will work hands-on with prototypes and deployed systems, collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, software and operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical, testable engineering outcomes.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Plan, set up and execute hands-on validation, verification and compliance tests on Fuse Energy hardware systems, both in laboratory environments and on live sites</li>
<li>Prepare systems for external certification and type testing, coordinating with notified bodies, test houses and third-party laboratories</li>
<li>Support in-field testing, commissioning and acceptance activities at customer, partner or pilot sites to validate safety, performance and grid interoperability</li>
<li>Execute targeted test campaigns covering areas such as electrical safety (LVD), EMC, grid code compliance (e.g. G99/G100 and EU equivalents), functional safety and environmental requirements</li>
<li>Identify, analyse and troubleshoot hardware, firmware and system-level issues uncovered during testing, working closely with design and software engineers to drive corrective actions</li>
<li>Translate regulatory and standards requirements into clear internal test plans, acceptance criteria and validation strategies</li>
<li>Develop and maintain thorough test documentation, including test procedures, reports, evidence packs and compliance dossiers for internal use and external audits</li>
<li>Communicate test results, risks and compliance status clearly to engineering, operations and leadership teams, supporting informed technical and commercial decisions</li>
<li>Contribute to continuous improvement of Fuse’s compliance, testing and quality processes as products and deployments scale</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a closely related technical discipline</li>
<li>At least 3 years of experience in a hardware test, compliance, regulatory or certification-focused engineering role</li>
<li>Strong hands-on experience working with electrical or power-electronic systems in laboratory and/or field environments</li>
<li>Proficiency with standard electrical test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power analysers, multimeters, insulation testers and data acquisition systems</li>
<li>Experience creating structured test plans, executing formal test procedures and producing clear, high-quality technical documentation</li>
<li>Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as LVD, EMC, grid connection codes and related EU/UK directives (or a strong ability to learn them quickly)</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with a rigorous, detail-oriented approach to engineering work</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple test activities in parallel and operate effectively across lab, site, and external partner environments</li>
