We are seeking a Legal Counsel for Air Defense and Counter Intrusion to join our team in Washington, D.C. or Costa Mesa, CA. The successful candidate will provide legal oversight to proposals, procurement, and advise on data rights and contract structures. They will also give legal guidance to existing business areas and craft legal and business strategies.
\nThe Legal Counsel will partner closely with customers, outside counsel, and business partners across the organisation to support business development and legal operations. They will drive customer growth by executing new government contracts and growing existing ones, using their expertise in federal procurement law to help the Business Development, Proposal, and Engineering Teams efficiently capture new contracts, grow existing contracts, and set up follow-on opportunities for future contracts.
\nThe ideal candidate will have 4+ years of work on US Government contracts matters, preferably with a law firm or in-house at a government contractor. They will have a solid understanding of the government procurement process, including contract vehicles and types, data rights issues, and software acquisition approaches. They will also have strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, and be a quick learner and independent performer.
