<p>As our Compute legal counsel, under the responsibility of the Director, Compute legal counsel, you will be instrumental in structuring, drafting, and negotiating our Mistral Compute deals.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities:</p>
<p>• Draft, negotiate, and provide strategic advice on contracts related to establishing deploying, maintaining and commercializing our Compute operations, including hardware, data center development, customer contracts and other compute and cloud related contracts.</p>
<p>• Act as product counsel for the Mistral Compute business including advising on legal and regulatory compliance.</p>
<p>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial-legal, procurement, finance, and other corporate functions.</p>
<p>• Build our internal templates, practices and guidelines to help the business and legal scale.</p>
<p>• Support on other related legal topics as needed, especially on the compliance front (e.g. OFAC and similar topics).</p>
<p>Qualifications and skills:</p>
<p>• Educational Background: Bachelor degree or above (LLB, LLM, Juris Doctor preferred) from an accredited law school in Europe.</p>
<p>• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience in the technology space.</p>
<p>• Strong experience in structuring and negotiating compute or infrastructure deals with an understanding of cloud and technology related industries.</p>
<p>• Knowledge and usage of Artificial Intelligence: An understanding of artificial intelligence technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing and their applications is important.</p>
<p>• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex contractual structures, interactions in the contract chain and their interplay with financing topics and technical constraints.</p>
<p>• Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication; strong ability to communicate legal advice to clients and colleagues, and presenting complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.</p>
<p>• International mindset: International experience is a plus.</p>
<p>• Adaptability: Given the rapidly evolving nature of AI technologies and compute topics, and the legal landscape surrounding them, candidates should be adaptable and willing to continuously learn and update their skills and knowledge.</p>
<p>• Ethical Awareness: A strong understanding of ethical considerations related to AI, such as fairness, transparency, accountability, and bias mitigation, is important.</p>

      <Description><![CDATA[<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>
<p>As Commercial Counsel, EMEA at Cursor, you&#39;ll lead and scale our commercial legal efforts across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You&#39;ll be the primary legal partner supporting revenue-generating teams in the region, structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements while helping Cursor navigate evolving regulatory frameworks.</p>
<p>This will be the first dedicated commercial legal hire focused on EMEA. You&#39;ll play a foundational role in building our regional legal strategy, developing scalable contracting processes, and advising on regulatory issues that impact how we sell and operate internationally. You&#39;ll work closely with Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security, Product, and executive leadership to enable rapid growth while thoughtfully managing risk.</p>
<p><strong>What you&#39;ll do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead negotiation and drafting of a wide range of commercial agreements across EMEA, including SaaS agreements, enterprise customer contracts, reseller and channel partner agreements, strategic partnerships, and vendor agreements.</li>
</ul>

<li>Partner closely with GTM leadership to support complex enterprise deals and accelerate deal cycles while balancing risk appropriately.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with Security and Product teams on customer-facing terms, DPAs, security addenda, and compliance commitments.</li>
</ul>

<li>Support international expansion efforts, including new market entry, local law considerations, and coordination with outside counsel where necessary.</li>
</ul>

<li>Develop and implement scalable contracting processes, playbooks, templates, and approval workflows to increase efficiency and consistency across the region.</li>
</ul>

<li>Provide practical, business-oriented guidance to cross-functional stakeholders, translating legal complexity into clear, actionable advice.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Help build and shape Cursor&#39;s global commercial legal function, contributing to long-term strategy, hiring, and best practices.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>You may be a fit if</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Qualified lawyer in at least one EMEA jurisdiction (UK or EU preferred), with active membership in good standing.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>8+ years of relevant legal experience, including time at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a high-growth technology company.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Significant experience negotiating complex SaaS and technology agreements, particularly with enterprise customers.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape impacting AI, software, and developer tools is a plus.</li>
</ul>
