      <Description><![CDATA[<p>Supports department by facilitating the delivery of professional, specialized nursing care related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition for the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide care, education, and teaching related to vascular access needs; and enteral nutrition and by implementing medically prescribed interventions related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition in defined populations.</p>
<p>This role requires experience as a Vascular Access specialist to perform difficult peripheral access on patients with limited vein access. The ideal candidate will have experience in central venous catheter care and maintenance, trouble-shooting central venous catheter occlusions, and administering FDA-approved fibrinolytic drugs to restore central venous catheters to full function.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Facilitate the delivery of professional, specialized nursing care related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition for the comfort and well-being of patients</li>
<li>Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide care, education, and teaching related to vascular access needs; and enteral nutrition</li>
<li>Implement medically prescribed interventions related to IV therapy and enteral nutrition in defined populations</li>
<li>Perform placement of enteral feeding tubes for patients utilizing an electronic feeding tube placement system</li>
<li>Prepare patients for enteral feeding tube placement procedure according to manufacturer&#39;s guidelines, evidence-based, and Mission policies</li>
</ul>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing</li>
<li>Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing</li>
<li>BLS Healthcare Provider certification</li>
<li>National Certification VA-BC (Vascular Access Board Certification) or CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) within two years of hire</li>
</ul>
<p>Preferred qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>Masters in Nursing</li>
<li>Cortrak training course for inserting enteral feeding tubes</li>
<li>Experience in data collection and measuring outcomes for all vascular access procedures and enteral feeding tube procedures</li>
</ul>
