<p>You&#39;ll be a hands-on technical leader and people manager in equal measure: guiding architecture decisions, shaping contribution workflows, and helping a small, high-impact team do some of the most leveraged work at GitLab.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers, working across the Pajamas Design System and the GitLab documentation site.</li>
<li>Define and build the engineering practice within Upstream Studios–this is a new function and you’ll have real influence over how it takes shape.</li>
<li>Guide architecture and technical decisions for the design system (components, tokens, patterns) and the docs site (performance, reliability, infrastructure, localization).</li>
<li>Help others across the organization understand the strategic value of a well-maintained design system and documentation platform.</li>

<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience leading infrastructure, platform, or development teams, with a track record of building high-performing, values-aligned teams.</li>
<li>Deep expertise in design systems–including design tokens, component architecture, accessibility standards, and contribution models.</li>
<li>Excellent technical background, including professional experience with Git, docs-as-code, Hugo, accessibility, and building and maintaining a design system.</li>
<li>Experience of building and supporting multi-lingual sites and localization workflows at scale.</li>
<li>Professional experience with JavaScript (Vue.js) and familiarity with Elasticsearch, Ruby/Go, AI tools, and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.</li>
<li>Strong expertise in running and scaling large, consumer-grade platforms, with a focus on reliability, security, performance, and scalability.</li>
<li>Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment.</li>

<p>The Intelligence &amp; Investigations (I2) team detects and disrupts abuse and strategic risks so people can use AI safely. We translate real-world signals, investigations, and external threat intelligence into practical mitigations, operating guidance, and partner-ready support that improves safety outcomes across the AI ecosystem.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>As a Product &amp; Solutions Lead focused on safety and security, you will build and operate 0–1 products, services, and technical solution packages that help developers and public institutions move from experimentation to durable, trusted outcomes—while maintaining public safety, transparency, and respect for privacy and rights.</p>
<p>This role balances two modes of delivery:</p>
<ol>
<li>Bespoke products and technical solutions for strategic internal and external partners, and</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>Scalable product and solution packages that can be reused broadly across partners and deployments.</li>

<p>Training is a component of scale, but not the center of gravity. You will also ship reference implementations, playbooks, evaluation kits, and repeatable operating models that partners can adopt and operate.</p>

<li>Own the 0–1 roadmap for safety and security solution offerings: define the target users, problem statements, tools, operating models, success metrics, and the set of reusable deliverables we ship.</li>

<p>OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team turns research breakthroughs into production-grade systems. <p>As a Technical Deployment Lead (TDL), you will define how OpenAI delivers complex systems to customers. You will own how they are built, shipped, and adopted. You’ll translate business outcomes into a technical plan, run day-to-day execution across FDEs, Researchers, and Customer Engineers, and partner with customer teams to ensure delivery supports their goals.</p>
<p>You will own delivery end-to-end: embedding with customers to map workflows and success criteria, ensuring components ship on time, and leading readiness and change management for adoption. You’ll track progress, manage dependencies, make sequencing decisions, and drive 0→1 prototypes through MVP and scale. You will also share field insights with Product and Research to guide roadmap and priorities.</p>
