As a Staff Collaboration Systems Engineer, you will be the technical lead for our Google Workspace environment and a key owner for other collaboration platforms.</p>\n<p>Your responsibilities will include owning the Google Workspace platform end-to-end, designing and evolving the collaboration architecture, leading incident response and complex troubleshooting for high-impact Workspace issues, building automation and integrations using scripting and Google Workspace APIs/SDKs, integrating Google Workspace with identity, security, and IT workflows, and using AI as a force multiplier for your work.</p>\n<p>You will also lead cross-functional projects such as Workspace migrations, domain consolidations, tool rationalization, and new collaboration patterns, mentor and uplevel other engineers, and represent the team with stakeholders across the company.</p>\n<p>Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>8+ years of experience in IT systems or collaboration/platform engineering, including significant hands-on ownership of Google Workspace in a medium-to-large environment.</li>\n<li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.</li>\n<li>Deep Google Workspace experience running large or complex environments (ideally multi-domain or multi-org), across Gmail, Calendar, Drive/Shared Drives, Groups, Chat/Spaces, and Meet.</li>\n<li>Strong systems design and troubleshooting skills, including debugging issues that span clients, network, identity, and backend services.</li>\n<li>Solid scripting and automation skills (e.g., Google Apps Script, GAM, Python), and experience using Google Workspace APIs/SDKs to automate lifecycle, configuration, and reporting.</li>\n<li>Experience implementing and operating security, privacy, and compliance controls such as DLP, retention/legal hold, e-discovery, external sharing policies, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and access reviews.</li>\n<li>Experience integrating Google Workspace with identity (SSO/SCIM), MDM/endpoint tools, logging/observability, and ticketing/ITSM systems.</li>\n<li>Proven use of AI tools to speed up engineering or operations work (e.g., generating code, runbooks, or summaries), with a clear approach to validating outputs, reducing bias, and protecting reliability and security.</li>\n<li>Track record of operating at a staff-level scope: leading large, complex initiatives, shaping cross-team roadmaps, and owning impactful outcomes.</li>\n<li>Ability to lead and mentor other engineers, give clear technical direction, and partner effectively with managers, product owners, and stakeholders.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>In-Office Requirement Statement:</p>\n<p>We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments.
