<p>Key responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Act as Eurostar&#39;s technical specialist for brakes and air systems, ensuring all systems meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.</li>
<li>Lead investigations into braking and pneumatic system issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.</li>
<li>Optimise and improve maintenance strategies, including monitoring reliability, managing obsolescence risks, and supporting overhaul programmes.</li>
<li>Work closely with suppliers, design authorities, and internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure robust system performance.</li>
<li>Provide expert technical input into maintenance planning, project delivery, and system upgrades.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with evolving safety, sustainability, and regulatory requirements across all braking and air system activities.</li>
<li>Support documentation updates, risk assessments, and technical decision-making related to these safety-critical systems.</li>
<li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance fleet availability, operational performance, and lifecycle management.</li>
<li>Participate in the on-call engineering rota, responding to safety incidents and operational needs as required.</li>
</ul>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/D or Degree) with proven expertise in rolling stock braking and pneumatic systems, including design, maintenance, testing, and system improvements.</li>
<li>Strong technical knowledge of pneumatics, electro-pneumatics, mechanical, and regenerative braking, system integration, and safety-critical braking requirements.</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years&#39; experience in rolling stock engineering, with the ability to lead technical investigations, diagnose complex faults, and interpret engineering drawings and standards.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of railway regulations and standards (e.g. TSI, EN, UIC, ISO) and experience supporting certification, homologation, and engineering changes.</li>
<li>Skilled in reliability and maintenance engineering, including FMEA, failure investigations, obsolescence management, and collaborating with suppliers and performance teams.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, use Microsoft Office effectively, and operate in both English (advanced) and French (desirable).</li>

<p>This role will be based in our Assembly department, working with a team who are responsible for building motorsport and performance OEM brake components. The role requires the candidate to build components manually, working at a consistent work rate, ensuring that components are built to spec with no quality defects and in a timely manner.</p>
<p><strong>Key Competencies</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Previous Assembly skills, preferably gained from working in a motorsport environment</li>
<li>Ability to understand how braking systems work</li>
<li>Must be able to read English manufacturing specs</li>
<li>Can use hand assembly tools (torque wrenches etc) and use measuring equipment</li>
<li>Ideally, the candidate would have experience working with a production engineering team, assisting in creating build specifications.</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar environment.</li>
<li>Good understanding of engineering materials.</li>
<li>Gained a craft apprenticeship or a mechanical NVQ</li>
<li>Good knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.</li>
