As a Clinical Helper in our esteemed team, you will provide basic hands-on care for hospitalised patients. You will assist the nursing assistant with hands-on care, including bathing, feeding, toileting, and applying and removing restraints.

Responsibilities:

• Bathe patients • Feed patients • Assist with toileting • Apply and remove restraints (soft wrist and mittens) • Complete CHG baths • Perform Foley maintenance care • Turn/reposition patients • Assist with activity progression

Education Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent

License/Certification Requirements:

• Current BCLS certification

Professional Experience Requirements:

• Experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is preferred • Superior interpersonal communication skills

In this role, you will oversee the instrument and equipment set-up for your OR, including utilization of preference cards and ability to anticipate your surgeons' needs. You will coordinate and oversee your room during a case as the circulator, facilitating effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures. You will utilize appropriate body mechanics in moving your patients to stretchers and OR tables to prevent injury, manage your patients' care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia, and consistently review your charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure.

To qualify for this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing, a minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center, and active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure. You must also have valid BCLS Certification upon employment, ACLS as required by facility, and PALS is preferred, but may be required at some facilities.
