If you don't think you meet all of the criteria above but still are interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone excited to join the team.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $204,000,000/yr to $238,000,000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $240,000,000/yr to $280,000,000/yr for San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Gusto considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law.
Legal AI Engineer (Contractor)

About Gusto

At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff , payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR , so owners can focus on their craft and their customers.

We're looking for a Legal AI Engineer for a fixed engagement to build foundational legal team AI infrastructure. You'll design and stand up these systems, document them thoroughly, and hand them off to the team in a state where they can be maintained and iterated on internally.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day during this engagement:

Connect the AI Stack

Take the skills, workflows, and dashboards that individual team members have already built in Claude and package them into shared, maintainable assets the whole team can use.

Wire together current AI tooling , build MCP integrations so data flows where it's needed without manual handoffs; engage with Gusto's AIT team on connections where native integrations don't exist.

Further operationalize AI tools and integrations as agreed upon.

Build a Legal Repository

Stand up a structured, queryable knowledge layer fed by the team's existing research, positions, precedents, and playbooks , one that can be searched by any team member, can be invoked by automated workflows, and continuously ingests new information as the team works in the tool.

Implement AI Workflows

Working from priorities set by legal ops and attorneys, implement AI-assisted workflows for the team's highest-volume use cases , likely including contract first-pass review, matter intake and routing, litigation operations to enable intake, routing and response drafting for subpoenas, demand letters and notices and prompt libraries for recurring legal tasks.

Document and Hand Off

Deliver a maintenance runbook for every system built and train designated team members on administration, so nothing requires the contractor to maintain it after the engagement ends. Establish adoption baselines so the team can measure progress and know what to iterate on next.

Here’s what we're looking for:

Hands-on experience building and shipping AI-assisted workflows , not evaluating tools or writing specs, but actually standing systems up. Be ready to walk through something you built from prompt to production.

Direct, working proficiency with Claude or comparable LLMs: prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and iterating on outputs until they're reliable. This is the core technical skill for everything we're building.

Integration experience , you've wired tools together using APIs, MCPs, or similar patterns, and you know what breaks and why. Coordinating with engineering or IT teams to scope and execute those connections is second nature to you.

Comfort operating in ambiguity. You can take a business problem and context from attorneys or legal ops , not a technical spec , and turn it into a working system. You know how to ask the right questions, fill in gaps with judgment, and move forward.

Comfort working within internal technology governance processes. You know how to communicate with an IT or AI team on tool approvals, data access, and security reviews , and you don't try to go around them. You build within the guardrails, and you help the team understand why those guardrails matter.

Compensation will be $150/hr, approximately 20 hours per week, commensurate with experience and expertise. This is a 3-month engagement.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role).

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we.
Founding Product Designer

The Opportunity

Fifth Dimension is the most prominent AI company in real estate in the world, bringing the magic of AI automation to document-heavy industries. Our AI workspace helps leading investment managers, owners, and operators across the US, UK, and APAC automate complex workflows, extract insights from critical documents, and make faster, smarter decisions.

The Challenge

We're leaving a huge amount of value uncaptured because we haven't yet taken a design-led view of the product. What should the product look like to immediately communicate intelligence and connectivity? How do the first 30 seconds of a sales demo show we're an intelligence platform, not a chatbot? What's the UI that makes users want to share their work and pull their colleagues in?

What You'll Do

Design and ship. You own the design layer end-to-end. User research through to pixel-perfect delivery. There is no handoff. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering in London, prototype rapidly, and use AI tools to collapse the gap between idea and implementation. We ship daily. You will too.

Define the language. You'll establish the visual standards, interaction patterns, component systems, and design principles the product grows into. Typography, hierarchy, density, motion, data visualisation. You set the bar and hold it.

Invent AI-native interaction. Agentic workflows, streaming outputs, document intelligence, confidence signals, human-AI collaboration. There's no playbook for this. You'll be writing it. Trust, explainability, responsive agentic UI, designing intelligence. These are the problems that will define your best work.

Talk to customers. Visit their offices. Watch them work. Run usability sessions. Sit with a portfolio manager and understand how they think about a $500M real estate portfolio. There is no research team. You are the research team.

Design to drive growth. The first 30 seconds of a demo, the onboarding flow that lands a new team, the interface that makes a customer expand from one use case to five. Your design decisions directly drive revenue. You'll see that in the numbers, not just the Figma comments.

Shape what gets built. You won't just execute on someone else's vision. You'll influence what the product becomes, not just how it looks. The best design work here is upstream, shaping product direction alongside the CPO and engineering.

Raise the bar. Help product engineers develop stronger design instincts. Champion frontend quality, accessibility, and the details that separate good products from great ones. Make everyone care more about craft.

About You

You're a designer who ships. Exceptional taste, fast hands, strong opinions. You're equally comfortable in Figma and on a customer call. You don't wait for permission and you don't need months of discovery to produce something tangible. People around you would say you operate at a level above your title.

You've designed complex, data-rich interfaces for demanding professional users. Tables, dashboards, document viewers, multi-step workflows. You know what it means to design something 200 people use for 8 hours a day. Real enterprise tools, not consumer apps, not marketing sites.

You use AI tools to amplify your output and you're excited about what that means for the craft of design. You've designed AI interfaces: trust signals, agentic workflows, streaming UIs, human-AI collaboration. In production or as a side project, you've been exploring by building.

You have sharp product instinct. You shape what gets built, not just how it looks. You make trade-offs, back them up, and run your own user research. You don't need a research team to understand your users.

You thrive with autonomy. Ambiguity doesn't scare you, it's where the interesting work lives. You're energised by early-stage: building something from zero, not inheriting a playbook.

What We're Looking For

Deep experience in product design, with a portfolio that shows real taste and craft in complex information design

Shipped data-rich interfaces in production: tables, dashboards, document viewers, multi-step workflows for professional users

Runs your own user research: interviews, usability tests, site visits. Energised by sitting with domain experts

Systems thinker, designs in components and patterns, can build a design system from scratch

Proficient with AI tools in their own workflow, uses them to move faster, not as a novelty

At least one startup or early-stage experience where they owned design end-to-end

Experience designing AI interfaces, trust signals, agentic workflows, streaming UIs, human-AI collaboration patterns

Nice to Have

Has been a founding or sole designer before, knows the 'build from zero' experience

Former founder, built businesses, wants to build product without the CEO overhead

Adjacent domain knowledge, financial services, legal tech, data platforms

Visible in the design community, writes, speaks, shares work publicly

Can touch code, enough to prototype or unblock themselves

Compensation

We are a hybrid London office, everyone comes in every Wednesday, ideally more.

Base: GBP 90,000-120,000

Meaningful equity on a standard vesting schedule

Product Engineer (Staff/Principal)

Want to join us at a well-funded AI startup that's really going places? Build product that customers love, by AI, in production, for real revenue at 5D. Work in a low-ego, high-learning environment.

About Us: Fifth Dimension is bringing vibe working to document-heavy industries. Today we work with real estate businesses in the US, EU and APAC, automating complex tasks, extracting valuable insights from documents, and empowering professionals to focus on high-impact work. Our AI workspace transforms how large investment managers and developers handle leases, development documents, and investment decisions.

The Challenge It's 9 AM on a Monday. You're reviewing usage analytics from last week's release and notice a drop-off in a key workflow, you sketch out a hypothesis and a fix before standup. By noon, you've shipped a prototype using Claude Code that rethinks how users navigate large document sets, and you're demoing it to a product manager and a customer success lead. By Wednesday, you're on a call with a major real estate firm, listening to how they actually use the platform day-to-day,and you spot an opportunity nobody had articulated yet. By Thursday, you've shaped that insight into a spec, got buy-in, and started building. By Friday, you're celebrating with the team as a customer tells you: "This is exactly what we needed."

About You You're an expert software engineer who thinks in terms of user outcomes, not just code. You don't just ship features, you understand the problem space deeply, make sharp product calls, and build solutions that customers didn't know they needed until they can't live without them. You've honed your craft through years of practice across the full stack, from performant backends and well-designed APIs to responsive, polished frontends. You have strong product intuition, you know how to talk to customers, read between the lines of a feature request, and make pragmatic trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality. You're proficient with AI coding assistance tools like Claude Code, leveraging them to accelerate development and focus on higher-level product and architectural challenges. You understand that modern engineering means effectively collaborating with AI to maximise your productivity and creative potential. Details don't escape you. You take pride in the end-to-end user experience, from the API contract to the loading state to the edge case that only one customer hits. As someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, you adapt quickly and mentor other engineers while collaborating effectively with commercial teams and customers. You're passionate about your personal growth and see each complex problem as an opportunity to expand your capabilities. You actively seek challenges that push the boundaries of what's possible and value environments where you can both contribute your expertise and continue to evolve as an engineer.

Your Impact Reporting to our CTO Chen, you'll own and shape core product areas end-to-end,from discovery and design through to architecture, implementation, deployment, and customer adoption. Working closely with our skilled engineering team and commercial stakeholders, you'll combine deep technical ability with strong product sense to build capabilities that deliver tangible value to enterprise customers and drive the business forward. Day to Day, You Will Think like a Product Manager+: Own core product areas while balancing technical excellence with business impact, you don't wait for a spec, you help write it Own end-to-end delivery of complex features from discovery and definition through to production deployment and customer adoption Talk to customers regularly, understanding their workflows, pain points, and unarticulated needs to inform what you build Collaborate with product, design, and commercial teams to shape the roadmap and translate customer insight into robust technical solutions Leverage AI coding tools like Claude Code to accelerate development workflows Lead development of the systems that underpin our platform: Scalable APIs and backend services that power document processing, data extraction, and agentic workflows Reliable streaming and event-driven architectures for real-time user experiences Frontend experiences that make powerful AI capabilities intuitive and accessible Integrations with enterprise systems and third-party platforms Implement data privacy and security by design Champion engineering best practices: testing, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code Mentor other engineers and help establish engineering and product-thinking best practices Invest in your own growth by taking on ambitious technical challenges and expanding your expertise Apply our engineering philosophy: intellectual honesty, effective time management, clear communication, and innovation

Operate within Engineering Foundations and partner closely with product engineering leaders and other platform teams

Run tight feedback loops with the engineering organization and translate developer pain into durable improvements

If you want to shape how engineers across the company build software every day, lead the adoption of AI as a first-class part of the development workflow, eliminate flaky tests, unreliable CI, and broken local environments, and build tooling that compounds in value as the organization scales, then this role is for you.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base pay range for this position is $198,000-$237,500, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
Senior Product Designer, AI

You'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of AI-powered developer tools at GitLab. As a Senior Product Designer on the AI Product Design team, you'll help build the next generation of intelligent software development experiences, bringing rigorous design craft to some of the hardest interaction problems in the industry.

You'll own the design process end-to-end: from ambiguous early exploration through to polished, shipped experiences. You'll design intuitive interfaces for AI agents, create seamless chat experiences for developers, and establish design patterns that make advanced AI capabilities feel natural and accessible, iterating continuously as the product and technology evolve together.

Some examples of our projects:

Duo Workflow (AI agents across the SDLC)

Duo Chat (AI-powered DevSecOps assistant)

AI-powered code suggestions and review tools

You'll be responsible for:

Owning the design process – Drive end-to-end design across GitLab's AI suite, from early exploration to polished execution.

Shipping and iterating – Break complex AI experiences into releases that fit GitLab's cadence without sacrificing quality.

Setting the craft bar – Set quality standards through strong visual and interaction design, and provide constructive feedback that raises the level of work around you.

Defining strategic direction – Bring validated user evidence and a strong point of view to roadmap discussions before direction is set.

Enabling the broader team – Help designers across the product understand and apply AI capabilities effectively in their own areas.

Mentoring and growing – Guide other designers in developing their skills, participate in hiring by interviewing candidates and evaluating portfolios, and share knowledge that raises the design quality of AI experiences across GitLab.

You'll bring:

A strong portfolio showing how you think and iterate, not just what shipped, ideally including AI/ML products, agentic workflows, or natural language interfaces where user control, transparency, and trust were key considerations.

Experience designing for AI workflows. You understand the unique challenges of multi-step, agentic, or automated processes and how to design for them effectively.

A high bar for craft. You care deeply about the details of interaction and visual design, and help others raise their standards too.

Experience conducting research and translating findings into clear, well-reasoned design decisions.

Proven ability to work iteratively in agile product development, balancing speed with quality and making smart tradeoffs without losing sight of the longer-term vision.

Experience designing in complex enterprise contexts, with working knowledge of Git, HTML/CSS, accessibility best practices, and design systems.

Excellent communication skills. You can simplify complexity, articulate design rationale clearly, and bring people along through your process.

The AI Product Design team is part of GitLab's broader UX organization, focused exclusively on creating exceptional experiences for AI-powered features across our DevSecOps platform. Our designers partner closely with AI Product Management and Engineering, as well as collaborators from across the entire product, from code creation to security scanning.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $140,000-$200,000 USD for residents of the United States only.

Partner with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to understand how customers are navigating AI modernization journeys, validate market problems around toolchain fragmentation and tool-specific AI agents, and translate them into clear messaging, revenue plays, pricing strategies, and launch priorities.

Build and continuously refine compelling positioning and messaging for AI capabilities, including persona-specific content for platform engineering leaders, DevOps directors, technology executives, and developer teams.

Define and execute comprehensive go-to-market plans for new AI capabilities, agents, workflows, and usage-based offerings, ensuring launches are timely, impactful, and tightly aligned with sales, field marketing, partner ecosystem, and digital marketing motions while delivering measurable pipeline and revenue impact.

Serve as the subject matter expert for AI and intelligent orchestration within Product Marketing, synthesizing analyst feedback, market trends, competitive insights, and customer proof points into differentiated narratives that position GitLab's architectural advantages over AI coding tools and fragmented toolchain approaches.

Create and maintain high-impact sales enablement materials such as pitches, playbooks, FAQs, objection-handling guides, use case libraries, and pricing and packaging comparison guides that help scale AI-focused sales motions and accelerate deal velocity.

Build distinctive external thought leadership grounded in your own practice of using AI agents , sharing original insights from hands-on experimentation.

Partner with Product Marketing Managers on AI positioning, usage-based monetization, and go-to-market strategies within your area of expertise.

Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving sales, product, growth, and marketing teams to drive AI adoption and revenue.

Software Engineer, Enterprise Agents

About Mistral AI

At Mistral AI, we believe in the power of AI to simplify tasks, save time, and enhance learning and creativity. Our technology is designed to integrate seamlessly into daily working life.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and lead the core systems that power Mistral's growth. This is a highly impactful role at the intersection of engineering, finance, data, and operations.

As our first hire in Enterprise Agents, you will balance hands-on work with technical direction, partnering with C-level stakeholders, and growing the team over time. You'll turn complex workflows into scalable software: integrations, connectors, and dashboards that make information flow across Mistral.

Responsibilities

Own the platform from zero: design and implement integrations, connectors, and workflows across internal systems (CRM, billing, HRIS, planning tools).

Lead the technical direction: define architecture, standards, and best practices for reliability, maintainability, and data consistency.

Ship features: build end-to-end web apps with a pragmatic approach to delivery and iteration.

Stakeholder leadership: partner directly with CFO, CTO and team leads to gather requirements, prioritize, and translate business needs into software.

Org enablement: deliver sleek, self-service tooling and dashboards that reduce manual work and accelerate decision-making across teams.

Technical Leadership: help shape the hiring plan, mentor future teammates, and evolve into the team's Tech Lead as we grow.

About You

Full-stack engineer with strong experience in modern programming languages and frameworks (Python, TypeScript, React...), you're comfortable building web apps end-to-end.

Track record shipping internal systems (APIs, integrations, connectors, dashboards) in enterprise-grade environments (banking/insurance/industry/consulting).

Hands-on and technically strong, with excellent judgment around trade-offs, maintainability, and operational reliability.

Leadership mindset: you've led initiatives or mentored engineers (formal or informal) and enjoy setting standards for others.

Strong communication and stakeholder management; you like turning ambiguous problems into a clear plan and shipped software.

Low-ego, team-spirited, autonomous; motivated by enabling others and improving how an organization operates.

Now, it would be ideal if you had:

Experience with LLMs / agentic workflows.

Exposure to market-leading SaaS business systems (Salesforce, Atlassian, Oracle, etc.).

Familiarity with infra & operations (Docker, CI/CD, K8s…).

Comfortable working closely with internal stakeholders, including C-levels.

Hiring Process

Introduction call - 30 min

Hiring Manager interview - 30 min

Technical Rounds - Live Coding Interview (TypeScript or Python) - 45 min - System Design Interview - 45 min - Optional: Project Deep Dive - 60 min

Culture-fit discussion - 30 min

References

This role is at-will and OpenAI reserves the right to modify base pay and other compensation components at any time based on individual performance, team or company results, or market conditions.

About the Team

At OpenAI, our Compliance team is dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity and adherence to regulatory and legal requirements. We collaborate closely with Legal, Security, People, Finance, and operational teams to ensure our compliance programs support the organization’s mission while mitigating risk in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.

About the Role

The Compliance Program Manager will play a key role in building and scaling OpenAI’s compliance program—translating requirements into practical processes, driving program execution, and improving how we detect, assess, and mitigate compliance risk. You’ll help run the day-to-day operational backbone of the program (e.g., disclosures, training, investigations tracking, controls, and reporting) and partner cross-functionally to keep the program effective as the company grows. This role represents an exciting opportunity to innovate compliance operations using the latest AI technology. This role reports to the Chief Compliance Officer.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

Build and scale compliance program operations: design and implement repeatable workflows (intake, triage, escalation, documentation, follow-up), and continuously improve them as risks and business needs evolve.

Own program execution: create project plans, define milestones, drive cross-functional action items, and ensure initiatives land on time (policy rollouts, training launches, controls implementation, tooling improvements).

Support disclosures and investigations processes: help manage intake and tracking, coordinate with stakeholders, maintain documentation, and ensure timely resolution and remediation follow-through.

Drive compliance training and communications: help develop, launch, and measure training and awareness programs that are clear, practical, and aligned to risk.

Monitor and assess compliance risk: partner with internal stakeholders to identify gaps, conduct internal assessments, recommend corrective actions, and track remediation.

Support audit and regulatory readiness: assist with responses to inquiries, audits, and examinations; maintain evidence, reporting decks, and program artifacts.

Develop metrics and reporting: build dashboards and recurring reporting for leadership (and the Audit Committee as needed) on risk areas, program health, and key initiatives.

Stay current on evolving requirements: track relevant regulatory developments and best practices; translate them into actionable program updates.

For all of the above, we expect you to leverage our products, including ChatGPT and agentic workflows to reduce workload, improve results, and upgrade the user experience.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

5+ years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, investigations ops, or program management in a regulated and/or fast-scaling environment.

Demonstrated experience building and running programs (process design, stakeholder management, project plans, metrics, continuous improvement).

Demonstrated ability using AI to improve compliance processes, or demonstrated skill in technical innovation.

Strong execution: you can plan the work and work the plan, with good judgment about prioritization in ambiguity.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to write and speak in plain English (not “compliance speak”).

Comfort partnering across teams (Legal, Security, People, Finance, Eng/Operations) and navigating competing priorities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail without losing the big picture.

Ability to independently manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.
