      <Description><![CDATA[<p>The Communications and Marketing Department at The New York Public Library is responsible for promoting the library&#39;s services, resources, locations, collections, programs, events, and exhibitions to a broad array of audiences and communities. The department positions NYPL as a cultural and educational leader and seeks to attract and engage new audiences across New York City and around the world.</p>
<p>We are looking for a Social Media Associate to play a critical role in bringing the voice and identity of NYPL to life on social media channels and amplifying our offerings and services through the development of creative social media content, including through creative writing and video content.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Research, write, photograph, film, and produce content for NYPL social media channels, including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and more</li>
<li>Strategize ideas based on NYPL initiatives, current exhibitions, cultural moments, social media trends, etc, in tandem with the social media senior manager and team</li>
<li>Work across platforms to identify and engage with creators, with particular attention to trends happening on social media to engage book, library, and humanities lovers worldwide</li>
<li>Assist in identifying and building strategic relationships with social media content creators</li>
<li>Shoot video and photography using a variety of equipment, including phone, DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras, gimbals, microphones, lights, and other associated tools</li>
<li>Build relationships across the organization to understand content needs and create engaging material</li>
<li>Engage socially with online audiences and create digital audience engagement</li>
<li>Upload, schedule, and manage content for publishing using social media management tools</li>
<li>Support other NYPL-affiliated accounts as needed, including local branch and research accounts</li>
</ul>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#39;s degree or 4+ years of additional related experience required</li>
<li>3+ years of social media production experience</li>
<li>Proficiency in creating engaging social-first videos</li>
<li>Ability to create compelling narratives that capture brand voice while driving engagement</li>
<li>Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects softwares</li>
<li>Basic image editing/resizing skills</li>
<li>Familiarity with social media publishing and monitoring tools (e.g., SocialFlow, SproutSocial, Meta Business Suite)</li>
<li>Knowledge of best practices for cybersecurity and social posting, as well as current social media trends and tools</li>
<li>Ability to adapt voice to various NYPL styles</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Interest in emerging social media products/tools</li>
<li>Familiarity with the publishing, library, literary, or cultural fields</li>

<p>As a Video Editor, you will report to the Lead Video Editor and work with a creative team of artists to ensure our marketing content is delivered at the highest quality and competed on a world-class level. You will help build trailers and video content to achieve the final creative vision set forward by your Video Art Director or Creative Director.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>

<p>Required Qualifications:</p>

<li>5+ years&#39; experience, ideally in a similar role</li>
<li>Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects and solid knowledge of Creative Suite</li>
<li>Solid knowledge of computers and video post technology, pipelines, and workflows</li>
<li>Storytelling editing skills</li>
<li>Motion graphic skill with a strong understanding and implementation of animation principles</li>
<li>Experience cutting picture, sound and music within a commercial environment</li>
<li>Deep passion and insight into the latest trends, techniques, and social networks</li>
<li>Solution focused with the ability to dive technically deep while still focused on deadlines</li>

<p>The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting.
