As a member of the Platform team, you will work closely with both external customers and internal stakeholders to meet their needs. You will:
\n
\n
Develop inter-cloud connectivity solutions to support enterprise customers from highly regulated industries to use Sourcegraph Cloud.
\n
Build a control plane to orchestrate a fleet of single-tenant Sourcegraph Cloud instances.
\n
Expose complex infrastructure as API to support internal customers to iterate faster.
\n
Dive into upstream dependencies (e.g., CDK for Terraform, Terraform providers for GCP) to debug and patch non-trivial problems.
\n
Be an advocate for building reliable services and work with leadership to help product teams achieve operational excellence.
\n
Participate in on-call rotation to uphold our contractual SLA commitments.
\n
\n
Within one month, you will…
\n
\n
Onboard onto the Sourcegraph architecture, tooling, and development workflow.
\n
Build a solid understanding of the team’s areas of ownership, technical challenges, and problems the team solves for our customers, and know how all of these align with the top-level company goals.
\n
Actively participate in team meetings, sharing ideas and insights to contribute to the overall team goals.
\n
Start contributing to the team goals and deliverables by shipping new features, debugging issues, and fixing bugs.
\n
\n
Within three months, you will…
\n
\n
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Cloud infrastructure, its underlying technologies, and its integration within the Sourcegraph ecosystem.
\n
Lead initiatives contributing to team goals through both discovery and delivery phases, collaborating directly with product and design partners, other engineering teams, and non-technical stakeholders from different departments.
\n
Contribute to the architectural design and implementation of new features or improvements, actively shaping the future direction of Cloud infrastructure based on customer needs.
\n
Lead initiatives contributing to team goals on the roadmap by going through the entire product development lifecycle discovery, design, implementation, and delivery.
\n
Participate in our on-call rotation.
\n
\n
Within six months, you will…
\n
\n
Be defining long-term technical vision and strategies for new product development, scaling existing services, and managing technical debt. These plans will consist of multiple smaller milestones that you will deliver iteratively with the team.
\n
Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on defining the team’s growth strategy based on the long-term product vision, the technical vision, and the team’s needs.
\n
Seek feedback from customers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for further improvements or new features, actively iterating on the Cloud infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet our high bar.
\n
\n
About you
\n
You bring a product mindset in balancing architectural flexibility and philosophy with meeting immediate customer demand. You are an experienced software engineer who seeks to solve problems by writing code rather than through one-off operations. You are passionate about user experience and self-service. You balance maintaining and designing high-impact systems with a pragmatic understanding of how to make appropriate tradeoffs (e.g., cut scope, low-tech vs. custom complex solutions) to ship quickly and iterate when necessary.
\n
Qualifications:
\n
\n
Proficiency in Go, or other strongly typed languages.
\n
Knowledge in one of the public cloud platform providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
\n
Experience with Terraform (or similar IaC solutions) and Kubernetes to build tooling and automation.
\n
Skilled at debugging distributed systems, followed by designing and implementing solutions to those problems. As the deeply technical steward of the SCIP community (https://scip-code.org), you'll be shaping governance and the roadmap by owning the protocol with its indexer ecosystem, reviewing and mentoring contributors, setting the bar for quality, driving alignment across organizations like Meta, Uber, Mozilla, and Stripe who already run these indexers in production, and helping to set Sourcegraph's product direction for code intel.
\n
Responsibilities
\n
Within one month, you will…
\n
\n
Get to know your team and its processes, get the SCIP toolchain running end-to-end, and land your first fixes and improvements across the indexer and protocol repos.
\n
Build a clear picture of the health of the SCIP ecosystem - the open issue long tail, the most-relied-upon indexers, where external partners are already invested - and form an early point of view on where the standard should head.
\n
Join the team's on-call support rotation.
\n
\n
Within three months, you will…
\n
\n
Own SCIP governance and community direction: triage and prioritization norms, contribution guidelines, and how the project sets and communicates its roadmap.
\n
Set the technical direction for the protocol and its indexers, confidently making calls that require real compiler fluency - language-feature support, AST-modifying tools, symbol-resolution correctness - that become the examples others follow.
\n
Deepen relationships with the partner organizations invested in SCIP, driving external alignment that advances both the standard and Sourcegraph's business.
\n
\n
Within six months, you will…
\n
\n
Have grown SCIP into a healthier, more active multi-party open ecosystem - more contributors, more engaged partners, and a higher, more consistent quality bar across indexers - recognized across the industry as the steward who steers it.
\n
Shape Sourcegraph's company-level bets where precise code intelligence intersects AI: how precise data grounds agents, how agents can help stand up and maintain indexers, and how the protocol should evolve to serve both humans and models.
\n
Be the person the company, our customers, and the broader community look to as the definitive authority on SCIP and precise code intelligence, influencing our overall technical direction well beyond the team.
\n
\n
About you
\n
You are a senior to staff-level open-source standard-bearer with credible compiler and language fluency. You will manage a book of 15-20 enterprise accounts, helping developers get real, measurable value out of our products. You will own the post-sales relationship end to end, driving adoption, surfacing risk, and getting customers healthy for renewal and expansion.
\n
This isn’t a passive relationship management role. You will be in the product, analyzing telemetry and adoption patterns, leading enablement sessions, driving strategic customer conversations, and partnering closely with Named AEs and Field Engineers to expand customer value over time. Sourcegraph is also at an exciting inflection point as we evolve from a seats-based model toward more consumption and workflow-oriented adoption, making the CSM’s impact on customer outcomes more tangible than ever.
\n
Within one month, you will:
\n
\n
Build relationships with your team, Named AEs, and Field Engineering counterparts
\n
Learn our product, value proposition, customers, and internal processes
\n
Shadow customer calls to understand how our enterprise and commercial customers use Sourcegraph
\n
Begin taking over your first accounts and establishing yourself as a trusted point of contact
\n
\n
Within three months, you will:
\n
\n
Own regular customer cadences, developing a strong understanding of customer workflows, use cases, and business priorities
\n
Build value narratives and monitor adoption health signals across your book of business
\n
Identify customers requiring additional enablement, executive alignment, or risk mitigation, and prioritize accordingly
\n
Independently lead product trainings, workflow discussions, and enablement sessions without relying on Field Engineering for standard engagements
\n
Partner with Named AEs on renewals, expansion opportunities, and strategic account planning
\n
Begin identifying opportunities to expand adoption across additional teams, workflows, and use cases through multithreading and deeper stakeholder engagement
\n
\n
Within six months, you will:
\n
\n
Lead strategic conversations with technical and executive stakeholders, helping customers connect Sourcegraph adoption, AI-assisted workflows, and broader platform usage to measurable engineering and business outcomes
\n
Drive broader adoption across your accounts, increasing usage of Deep Search, MCP, and consumption-based capabilities
\n
Serve as the voice of your customers internally, partnering with EPD, PMM, Support, and Sales to influence product direction and customer strategy
\n
Build strong multithreaded relationships across engineering, platform, security, and executive stakeholders within your accounts
\n
Run internal business reviews and customer-facing QBRs with clear value narratives, measurable outcomes, and documented KPIs
\n
Participate in onsite engagements and strategic customer discussions
\n
\n
You're tech-curious, customer-oriented, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy. You can manage a book of 15-20 accounts, assess customer signals and business context, prioritize effectively, and independently determine where to focus your time and attention.
\n
You are genuinely interested in developer tooling and the problems engineering teams are trying to solve. You don’t need to write production code, but you should understand developer workflows, how technical teams evaluate tooling, and how to guide customers toward meaningful adoption and value realization. Leading product trainings, workflow discussions, and enablement sessions without relying on a Field Engineer for standard engagements should feel comfortable, not intimidating.
\n
You are analytical, commercially minded, and communicate effectively across audiences. You can interpret telemetry, adoption patterns, and customer health signals to identify risks, opportunities, and expansion potential. You’re comfortable engaging with developers, engineering leadership, and executive stakeholders, and can lead value-driven conversations that connect platform adoption to measurable engineering and business outcomes.
\n
You know how to build momentum within complex accounts by multithreading relationships, identifying new use cases, and aligning customer goals to broader platform strategy. You’re proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.
\n
You are curious about AI-assisted workflows and how they are changing developer productivity and customer expectations. You’ve explored AI tools beyond passive usage through workflows, experimentation, automation, or solving real operational problems, and you have perspectives on how AI may change how customers evaluate value over time.
\n
You are coachable and continuously improving. You absorb feedback quickly, refine your approach, and continue growing your ability to lead strategic customer conversations and executive engagements.
\n
XML job scraping automation by YubHub
","url":"https://yubhub.co/jobs/job_2008be28-946","directApply":true,"hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Sourcegraph","sameAs":"https://sourcegraph.com/","logo":"https://logos.yubhub.co/sourcegraph.com.png"},"x-apply-url":"https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/sourcegraph91/jobs/5989776004?utm_source=yubhub.co&utm_medium=jobs_feed&utm_campaign=apply","x-work-arrangement":"remote","x-experience-level":"senior","x-job-type":"full-time","x-salary-range":"$154,720 - $193,400 per year","x-skills-required":["Customer-facing experience","Prior experience in a technical SaaS environment","Demonstrated comfort presenting to customers or technical audiences","Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills"],"x-skills-preferred":["Background in developer tooling, observability, infrastructure, or adjacent technical products","Experience working with a large, varied book of business","CS, engineering, or technical undergraduate background"],"datePosted":"2026-05-29T10:05:48.011Z","jobLocation":{"@type":"Place","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressLocality":"Remote"}},"jobLocationType":"TELECOMMUTE","employmentType":"FULL_TIME","occupationalCategory":"Engineering","industry":"Technology","skills":"Customer-facing experience, Prior experience in a technical SaaS environment, Demonstrated comfort presenting to customers or technical audiences, Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, Background in developer tooling, observability, infrastructure, or adjacent technical products, Experience working with a large, varied book of business, CS, engineering, or technical undergraduate background","baseSalary":{"@type":"MonetaryAmount","currency":"USD","value":{"@type":"QuantitativeValue","minValue":154720,"maxValue":193400,"unitText":"YEAR"}}},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","identifier":{"@type":"PropertyValue","name":"YubHub","value":"job_7e38390c-d96"},"title":"Field Engineer [IC4]","description":"
Job Title: Field Engineer [IC4]
\n
We're looking for a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team.
