Lifecycle Marketing Lead

Your job is to produce a job description for the job seeker. Treat copy that describes the job as more important than copy that talks about the company.

Start with an opening paragraph: what the role is, who the company is, why it matters. If the ad mentions salary, include it here. One short paragraph about the company is enough — do not reproduce lengthy "About Us" text.

For the role details, reuse the same section headings from the original ad (e.g. if the ad says "Responsibilities", use that heading, not "What you'll do"). Match the tone of the original: if formal, stay formal. If casual, stay casual.

Rephrase bullet points in your own words while keeping the factual content. Combine related points where it makes sense.

Content that is not directly about the role (long company history, mission statements, investor lists, press quotes) should be paraphrased into a sentence or two at most — the job seeker needs to understand the company, not read its pitch deck.

For benefits/perks: gather them from anywhere in the ad into one section. If the ad mentions nothing about benefits, omit a benefits section entirely.

Do not invent information that is not in the original ad.

The Role

We're looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Lead to own and evolve the end-to-end customer journey—from signup through activation, sustained usage, and reactivation. This is a hybrid product growth + lifecycle marketing role. You will design the systems that turn product usage signals into timely, relevant interventions across email, and in-product surfaces.

What You'll Do

Own onboarding, activation, and early lifecycle performance. Design and continuously improve the new user journey to reduce time-to-first-value, increase repeat usage, and drive early adoption of core product capabilities across API and dashboard experiences.

Build and operate lifecycle programs driven by product usage. Own lifecycle strategy across welcome, activation, engagement, expansion, and reactivation. Translate product events and usage thresholds into triggered journeys across email and in-product channels, partnering with an agency for design and execution where appropriate.

Run experiments that compound product-led growth. Design, execute, and analyze experiments using tools like PostHog to improve conversion, adoption, and retention. Maintain a focused experimentation cadence tied to clear lifecycle and revenue outcomes.

Support PLG-to-sales motions with high-quality signals. Define and operationalize signals that identify high-potential accounts based on usage behavior, and build automated flows that enable the BD team to engage with the right context at the right time.

Define, measure, and communicate lifecycle success. Establish clear lifecycle metrics and benchmarks (activation signals, engagement patterns, retention and reactivation rates), and use them to inform priorities, trade-offs, and ongoing optimization.

Partner cross-functionally to ship the journey. Work closely with product, engineering, data, and sales to align on lifecycle priorities, influence instrumentation and product surfaces, and ensure lifecycle systems reflect how customers actually use OpenRouter.

What We’re Looking For

7-10 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, growth marketing, product growth, or adjacent roles—ideally in PLG or developer-focused products.

Strong analytical instincts and experience working directly with product usage data and experimentation.

Hands-on experience with lifecycle and experimentation tooling (e.g. email platforms, marketing automation, PostHog or similar).

Track record of working directly with engineers, designers and analysts to bring projects to life.

Clear understanding of how onboarding, activation, and lifecycle systems drive product-led growth.

Comfort owning strategy while executing tactically in an early-stage, evolving environment.

Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to work effectively with product and engineering partners.

Nice to Have

Experience with API-first, infrastructure, or developer-tools products.

Prior experience building lifecycle systems from scratch.

Familiarity with customer data platforms, enrichment, or CRM workflows.

Technical or growth-engineering background enabling lightweight automation or instrumentation.

Why OpenRouter

Work at the center of the AI infrastructure stack as enterprises define how they adopt LLMs.

High ownership and autonomy to define how developer education and community scale.

Opportunity to shape a foundational function at a fast-growing company.

Fully remote team with a culture of autonomy and trust.

Competitive compensation, including base salary and equity.

You will use AI extensively to draft, edit, and prototype content and must have demonstrated experience using AI tools and agents as a part of a high-velocity communications calendar.

What You'll Do

Serve as Editor-in-Chief: Own editorial quality for all external content—ensuring clarity, consistency, technical accuracy, and strategic alignment across everything OpenRouter publishes.

Orchestrate and Systematize Content Strategy: Coordinate and enable internal builders and executives to communicate effectively, ensuring coverage of key product launches and a cohesive point of view across all channels.

Own Product Launch Narratives: Develop positioning and messaging for new features, model integrations, and product releases that establish technical authority and differentiation.

Build AI-Native Content Systems: Design and manage the "system prompts" for AI-assisted content creation—establishing guardrails, quality standards, and brand guidelines that enable scalable, high-quality output.

Enable Founder-Led Marketing: Support executives with ghostwriting, content strategy, and messaging guidance for personal accounts on Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms.

What We're Looking For

5-7 years in product marketing or developer marketing, ideally at a technical platform, API-first company, or developer tool.

Strong technical fluency with API products, developer workflows, and the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Exceptional writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to create compelling content across formats (blog posts, social media, web copy, positioning documents).

Systems thinker with strong process design skills—you build frameworks and templates that enable others to execute consistently.

Deep familiarity with developer communities on Reddit, Discord, and Twitter/X.

Experience orchestrating content across multiple internal stakeholders and channels without direct management authority.

Comfort with AI-native workflows—you embrace automation and AI-assisted content creation while maintaining editorial quality and strategic judgment. You have the technical fluency to serve as first-line reviewer of AI-generated content, validating technical accuracy before engineering review.

Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity—you can define the work, build the systems, and execute without a playbook.

Nice to Have

Prior experience in AI/ML, LLM ecosystems, or developer infrastructure products.

Track record launching technical products or features with strong content-led strategies.

Experience building and managing content systems, style guides, and brand voice frameworks.

Strong social media presence or demonstrated ability to create viral, engaging technical content.

Familiarity with developer communities, technical Twitter, and how developers discover and evaluate infrastructure tools.

Why OpenRouter

Work at the center of the AI infrastructure stack as enterprises define how they adopt LLMs.

Build the content and positioning strategy for a product with clear, tangible ROI: cost efficiency, scalability, flexibility, and innovation velocity.

High ownership and visibility with direct impact on how OpenRouter is perceived in the market.

Competitive compensation, including base salary and equity.

Fully remote team with a strong culture of autonomy and trust.

Scaled Support Specialist

Your job is to produce a job description for the job seeker. Treat copy that describes the job as more important than copy that talks about the company. Start with an opening paragraph (no heading): what the role is, who the company is, why it matters. ## About the Role We're looking for a Scaled Support Specialist who lives at the intersection of deep technical troubleshooting and exceptional human communication. You'll be the front line for developers integrating with OpenRouter's API — diagnosing complex issues across dozens of model providers, untangling new edge cases, and making sure every developer who reaches out feels like they have a partner, not a ticket number. This is not a scripted helpdesk role. Our users are highly capable engineers building the next generation of AI applications, which means the problems they bring to us are complex, nuanced, and frequently novel. You'll encounter issues daily where there is no runbook. You'll need to figure it out, often with incomplete information, and usually before anyone else on the team has seen it either. If you're the kind of person who reads API changelogs for fun, has strong opinions about error message quality, and gets genuine satisfaction from turning a frustrated developer into a happy one — keep reading. ## Key Responsibilities ### Troubleshooting & Problem Solving (Core Focus) - Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across OpenRouter's API, spanning multiple LLM providers - Reproduce bugs in ambiguous environments — different SDKs, languages, frameworks, and auth configurations — using tools like `curl`, Postman, and small test apps - Read and interpret logs, headers, and request traces; identify whether the problem is client-side, OpenRouter-side, or an upstream provider issue vs. a user misconfiguration - Turn "it doesn't work" into actionable findings: exact steps to reproduce, clear hypotheses, and verified fixes or workarounds ### Developer Communication & Advocacy - Respond to developer inquiries across support channels (email, Discord, GitHub) with clarity, empathy, and technical precision - Translate complex technical root causes into human-friendly explanations - Set expectations on timelines and next steps; provide proactive updates and close the loop - Identify patterns in support requests and advocate internally for documentation improvements, API design changes, or better messages ### Self-Directed Research & Learning - Stay current with the rapidly evolving LLM ecosystem - Develop deep expertise in OpenRouter's routing logic, fallback behavior, rate limiting, streaming (SSE), and billing systems with minimal hand-holding ### Bridge to Product & Engineering - Spot systemic issues underneath individual tickets and push for the fix that prevents 50 more - Identify trends in support volume to capture product feedback and inform roadmap priorities - Collaborate on improving the developer experience ## About You ### Required: - 4+ years in a technical support, developer support, solutions engineering, or similar role — ideally supporting an API or developer tools product - Exceptional troubleshooting instincts - Strong API fluency - Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or TypeScript) - Excellent written communication - Comfort with ambiguity - Genuine passion for AI and LLMs ### Nice-to-Haves: - Familiarity with the OpenAI SDK / Chat Completions API format - Experience with AI/ML frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face - Experience with observability tools (logging, tracing, metrics) - Experience scaling support operations — e.g., implementing AI-assisted support bots, building internal support dashboards, or creating automated triage workflows - Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities - Background in or exposure to ML/AI concepts beyond just using APIs (benchmarking, evals, fine-tuning) ## Why OpenRouter - Work at the center of the AI infrastructure stack as enterprises define how they adopt LLMs. - High ownership and autonomy to define how developer education and community scale. - Opportunity to shape a foundational function at a fast-growing company. - Fully remote team with a culture of autonomy and trust. - Competitive compensation, including base salary and equity.

About the Role

We're hiring our first Security Engineer to own the process of safeguarding our systems, infrastructure, applications, and data. As the first security hire, you will build out our security operations and vulnerability management process for our AI gateway platform. You'll implement programs, run tooling, ship security fixes, and drive remediation across our stack. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of ensuring the security of our platform and users. This isn't a compliance paperwork role; it's a hands-on security position with direct impact on how we protect millions of API requests daily.

Manage endpoint security tooling as we scale; conduct audit log reviews and maintain visibility across our stack.

Deep knowledge of cloud security and expertise in operating in a cloud-hosted environment.

AI-forward with hands-on experience adopting, leveraging, and integrating AI tools.

Startup mindset; you thrive building programs from the ground up and not just inheriting existing playbooks.

Pragmatic and business-oriented, able to balance security rigor and business speed.

Ability to communicate risk and technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About the Role

OpenRouter is an LLM marketplace that lets developers use frontier models in one place. This means shipping frequent model launches and making integration dead simple.

We’re looking for an AI enthusiast to manage model launches and provider onboarding. You’ll help bring new models to market and improve the onboarding process for new providers.

Mindset: Ambitious owner, fast learner, bias to ship. Passionate about AI and developer experience.

Education: CS/Engineering degree is a plus, not required with demonstrated technical aptitude.

What We Offer

Partner Development Manager, Provider Ecosystem

Overview

As the Manager of Ecosystem Partnerships (Provider Supply), you'll own and execute OpenRouter’s strategy for growing and managing our global network of LLM and inference providers. You will be the company’s first supply-side partnerships hire and will build the foundational programs that ensure OpenRouter has the industry's most comprehensive, reliable, and compliant model ecosystem.

You'll manage relationships with our highest-impact model and infrastructure partners, negotiate commercial and technical agreements, ensure billing and SLA accuracy, enforce data policy compliance, and drive the expansion of new providers and model families. This role is deeply cross-functional—working closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, and Finance to make OpenRouter the platform of choice for providers looking to scale distribution and revenue.

You will shape the future of OpenRouter’s supply ecosystem, directly influencing product quality, reliability, economics, and overall platform competitiveness.

What You'll Do

Grow and Prioritize the Provider Ecosystem

Develop and own the strategy for sourcing, prioritizing, and onboarding new model providers, inference services, and accelerator-based platforms.

Evaluate provider technical capabilities, performance characteristics, pricing, and strategic relevance to determine partnership fit.

Build a high-quality pipeline of emerging model developers, cloud inference platforms, and GPU/ASIC providers to expand OpenRouter’s supply diversity.

Lead Provider Relationship Management

Manage end-to-end relationships with key providers, including roadmap collaboration, integration planning, pricing reviews, and quarterly business reviews.

Partner with Engineering and Product to ensure smooth technical integration, metadata accuracy, reliability standards, and go-to-market alignment.

Advocate for provider needs while balancing platform-wide performance, economics, and compliance considerations.

Drive Provider Data Policy & Security Compliance

Build scalable compliance programs that ensure providers meet OpenRouter’s data handling standards (no-train/no-retain, ZDR, SOC2/ISO alignment, GDPR, TPRM requirements).

Establish recurring compliance reviews, attestations, breach escalation pathways, and risk classifications.

Collaborate with Legal and Security to maintain enforceable data governance across all provider agreements.

Protect Revenue Through Billing Accuracy & SLA Enforcement

Develop systems to identify billing discrepancies, token miscounts, rate-card inconsistencies, and revenue leakage.

Partner with Finance to maintain accurate provider rate cards, rev-share structures, and payout workflows.

Developer Relations Lead

Your job is to become the trusted voice of developer education for OpenRouter. As a developer first, you understand AI infrastructure deeply, you've built with large language models, and you're fluent in the tradeoffs developers face when choosing models, architectures, and tooling. You will build and scale OpenRouter's developer education presence across YouTube, Twitter/X, Discord, Reddit, and other community channels—helping developers make better architectural decisions and use OpenRouter effectively.

This is a hands-on, founding DevRel role. In year one, you will be the primary creator and community presence, with the opportunity to shape how the function scales over time.

Responsibilities

Define and execute OpenRouter's developer education strategy across YouTube, Twitter/X, Discord, Reddit, and other community channels.

Create high-quality tutorials, videos, guides, code examples, and reference architectures focused on real production use cases.

Be deeply present in developer communities and OpenRouter's Discord—answering questions, spotting patterns, and building trust.

Synthesize developer feedback into actionable insights for product and engineering teams.

Represent OpenRouter publicly through talks, writing, and community discussions on AI architecture and multi-model systems.

Partner with Product Marketing, Engineering, and Support to ensure educational content is accurate, discoverable, and aligned.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

OpenRouter is consistently referenced as a canonical resource for multi-model AI architecture and model selection.

A small number of high-quality tutorials, repos, or videos become default entry points for new developers.

Developer questions in community channels are increasingly answered by peers, not just staff.

Clear, actionable developer insights regularly inform product decisions and roadmap prioritization.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in developer relations, developer education, or a closely related technical role.

Experience at a developer tools company, infrastructure platform, or API-first product.

Proven track record creating technical educational content that drives real developer adoption.

Deep hands-on understanding of AI/ML, large language models, APIs, and modern developer workflows.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex systems clearly.

Comfort with public speaking and representing a company in technical forums and events.

Self-directed and entrepreneurial; able to define problems, identify leverage, and execute independently.

Comfortable being publicly visible and camera-ready as a representative of OpenRouter.

Nice to Have

Experience building or scaling developer communities.

Background running workshops, hackathons, or structured education programs.

Familiarity with OpenRouter or public writing/speaking on multi-model AI approaches.

Experience with video production, streaming, or multimedia technical content
